i get in the car,
finally leaving this hellhole.
my headphones are in.
all of a sudden,
music is blasting so loud you can hear it through the car if you were outside.
i take my headphones off for a split second
to rub my ear like i always do when it's loud.
the seats are vibrating and he's attempting to be funny.
he starts grabbing my knee, trying to joke.
it's not funny.
get off me.
the car smells like smoke,
music is blasting, hurting my ears.
my nose stings.
suck it up.
i play my music louder in my headphones,
trying to block out the sound.
it just makes it worse.
my breathing gets faster.
why am i overreacting to this?
