Your POV:

It's been two weeks since the meeting with Tom Hagen.  I told Rick and Shane what happened at the meeting, and they encouraged me to take Tom up on his offer.  They also advised me to be cautious, and to make sure any kind of money deals were legitimate before signing anything (except the rights to my songs, they said to keep those for myself).  Since then, I've been spending my time working and writing more songs in preparation for today.

Oh, what's today?  Today is the day I go and record the two songs I played in the bar at the studio Elektra has in Seattle.

Big news, I know.

Just to be safe, I had any of the other completed songs that I'd worked on in my notebook, since I figured if Tom liked what he heard then he'd want me to do one or two more songs.  I also had my guitar with me.  It was a Fender Jaguar that Shane had found at a garage sale when my original guitar broke.  I play left handed, so thank God he found me this one or I'd have been out some serious cash to get a good replacement.

(A/N: Kurt's guitar here.  Correct me in the comments if the make and model is wrong.)

Anyways, the studio was in a way nicer part of town than the bar was, and I looked... well, a little out of place. I mean I guess that's what happens when I my 'best' clothes are a clean flannel with no holes, my least shitty pair of jeans, and my Vans that I wiped down to make them look better. Everyone else is in new stuff, nice cars, expensive coffee... you know, wealthy people shit.

I don't know. Whatever.

At the moment, I was sitting in reception waiting for Tom to come and grab me so we can get this recording stuff done and maybe do a few other songs since he was interested in them so much.  The office had some posters hanging up, and I saw some bands I recognized... and a few I didn't.  Pentakill, huh?  Look a little weird.  Out of the corner of my eye I saw Tom coming up to me.  He saw what I was looking at and nodded his head towards it.

"Pentakill.  New signing little more than two years ago.  They're going strong in the metal charts, not as big as some of our other big players but they're young, and they're hungry.  I doubt you run into any of them, but some of them are in town for a press item so, just in case, don't be alarmed.  Despise their appearance, they're good enough people.  Now, you ready to get down to business?"  He asked me.  I nodded, grabbed my guitar and stood to follow him as he led me into the recording studio.  We came upon a room with two producers in chairs, and some glass.

He pointed to a booth and said, "Alright kid, let's do the first two that I'd heard already, and then if you feel alright we can get a few more if you have them."

"Sounds good to me.  I have more than a few ready to go, so let's get it started," I said, and we started recording.
