Chapter 4

Yesterday was a disaster.

Just because of my parents! UGHH! Can I run away? Should I? UGHHHHHHHHH!!!!

"Jiyoo, what do I have today?" I asked still lying in bed, starring at the ceiling above.

"You're free until lunch. The queen has requested your presence for lunch," she replied, standing near the bed.

"Ugh, why do I have to be me?" I groaned in frustration, but Jiyoo pretended she didn't hear that. After all, she's just as scared of the rulers as anyone else.

She's great, but she's not exactly the kind of person I can vent to about my life without being reminded that I'm "so lucky" — but only because I'm a princess.

"What are the guests doing today?" I asked, trying to distract myself.

"They're resting today. The king has planned a picnic for all the royals tomorrow," she said, causing my head to peek out from my pillow in surprise.

"The king? Since when did he start planning things? And a picnic? Where?" I bombarded her with questions.

"At Autumnvale Hill" she answered.

Autumnvale Hill... it's the most beautiful place I've been to outside the castle. It would've been a perfect moment if I didn't know that this whole picnic wasn't for me, but just a way for them to get rid of me.

"When did you get married again?" I asked randomly, getting up to pick a dress from my closet, my hair looking like Princess Anna from Arendelle.

"Your highness, I'm not married." She calmly informed causing me to get annoyed even more. WHY ME?!!!

"Prepare my bath" I ordered as I looked for an outfit, and she made her way towards the bathroom. I picked a decent outfit as I had no idea what my mother has to say now and went towards the balcony.

"It's ready, Your Highness," Jiyoo called out after about 10 minutes.

Well, I'm definitely going to take a long bath today...

-lunch-

I had successfully wasted half of my day, just like I've wasted the last 21 years of my existence.

I made my way to the dining room, regretting the very fact that I was born.

"Hello, Mom and Dad!" I faked enthusiasm, hoping they wouldn't spout nonsense again, as I took my seat. But, of course, no response... Great! Here we go again.

"Ha-eun, today you'll be meeting two princes after lunch" my mother replied, ignoring my fake greeting, her attention at her food, utterly uninterested.
