Chapter 9: Arrival

Being a doctor was my ultimate dream as if I can do anything if I become one but my only inspiration to pursue this dream of mine leaves me like an incurable pain and sadness.

Knock

A knock was heard from the door of my hospital office

"Come in" usal kong medyo propesyunal, inayos ko ang pustura ng katawan ko dahil isa akong doktor sa isang sikat na hospital

"Hi Doc Good morning" A middle aged man greeted me with a wide smile on his face and a little boy clinging on his hand

"Hi good morning Mr. Fernandez" usal ko habang tinitignan ang papeles sa aking harapan

"Doc. I will do anything just to help my son" mga usal ng lalaki na bakas na bakas sa mukha niya ang takot at pag-aalala

"Yes Mr. Fernandez we're doing our best to treat your son especially because his condition is really hard to cure due to the fact that his disease is incurable" pagpapaliwanag ko sakanya dahil sa mga sitwasyon na mahirap tanggapin because his son has a stage two brain  cancer

The session finished with a heavy feeling because curing a child without certain solutions is hard to swallow.

"Mr. Fernandez I will do my best as Miguel doctor" I said to him assuring him that I'll do my role as a doctor for his son

"Miguel be strong okay hold on tight and you're going to be safe!" saying those words made me want to tear up, Miguel hugged me suddenly and I was stunned like a frozen statue

Miguel is a really charming child "here kiddo" I extended my hands to him and gave him a piece of candy

"Thank you Doc Ihan" pagkatapos niyang sabihin ang mga matamis na salita ay umalis narin ang mag ama habang ako ay natatawa sa sinabi niya

"Ihan" I was laughing like crazy when I remembered how Miguel pronounces my name

While I was laughing, a loud ring of my telephone was the reason for me to stop and start to become a professional again

"Hello Dr. Zamora speaking"  

"Doc someone is here to meet you"

"Oh, I guess that must be her"

"Yeah what's the patient name?"

"The patient's name was Essence Villamos Doc"

"O okay... I'll be there" after I heard the name of my patient I was stunned and trying to figure out what I just heard, I just felt my feet were running without my consent in the hospital hallway just to meet the women I heard from the telephone call

I was running when I saw Miguel talking to someone, a woman sitting in her wheelchair, when I was about to go in the direction of that woman a loud shout was being heard in the hospital hallway

"DR. ZAMORA"

At siya nga my best friend Elisha, and I was shocked when I saw her wearing an unfamiliar uniform,

"Khian or I guess Dr. Zamora, so we are here kasi Dr. Haiba reffered you to become a personal doctor" sambit niya habang hingal na hingal

"Yes Dr. Haiba mentioned that to me, pero sino ba ang pasente? At bakit ka nakasuot ng ganyan?" tanong ko habang kinakain ako nang kuryosidad dahil gusto kong malaman kung sino ba ang Essence Villamos nayun, i wanted to find out kung siya ba talaga yun
