Ch. 6 Hero Placement

Principal Powers looked at the first-year students and smiled. Her eyes blinked when she spotted Will, seeing a young Steve Stronghold in him.

' That boy is the spitting image of his Father.' She internally says.

She looked at Leah, seeing a female version of a young Mark Stronghold with the essence of her best friend, Elizabeth Stronghold.

' And she looks like her Grandparents.' She smiled.

" Good morning, everyone." She greeted. " My name is Principal Powers. The gentleman next to me is Mr. Boomer. On behalf of the Faculty and Staff, we welcome you to Sky High." She held her hands out, causing the first-year students to applaud.

" Yeah! Woohoo! I'm finally in the big leagues." Zach shouted, causing everyone to stare at him.

" BE QUIET!" Mr. Boomer shouted, causing soundwaves to send some students falling to the sides or flying to the back of the GYM.

One of them is Leah, who flew towards the back of the GYM. She closed her eyes, thinking she was going to get hurt.

" Leah!" Magneta shouted as she turned and ran toward where Leah was flying.

The student council members, Gwen, Penny, Lash, and Speed entered the GYM. They witnessed Mr. Boomer using his power and looked shocked to see Leah flying.

" I'll get her!" Lash was about to stretch his arms to catch Leah.

However, Gwen stopped Lash when she saw Warren holding his arms out and catching Leah.

Leah opened her eyes when she didn't feel any pain. Her eyes blinked when she saw Warren looking down at her.

" Are you alright?" Warren asked.

His face and voice sounded stern, but Leah could sense his concern.

" I'm alright. Thanks for catching me." Leah smiled.

Warren nodded, putting Leah down and making sure she stood upright.

Leah fixed her clothing and looked forward, seeing first-year students helping each other up.

" Leah! You okay?" Magenta asked, looking at Leah worryingly.

" I'm fine," Leah reassures.

" Hey, Coach! Are you trying to kill the first-years?" Speed asked, walking with his friends to the bleachers as they sat down to watch the sorting of Heroes and Sidekicks.

Mr. Boomer opened his mouth to say something, but one look from Principal Powers caused him to stop.

" Where were we? Oh, yes! In a few moments, you will all go through a power placement.-" Principal Powers speaks.

" Power placement?" Will stared, looking at Principal Powers and Mr. Boomer with mixed emotions.

" You will either become a Hero or a Sidekick." Principal Powers continued.

" Sounds fascist." Layla looked annoyed.

" Power placement. It's how they decide you where to go." Ethan answered Will's question.

" The Hero track or the Loser track," Zach commented next to Will.

" Loser track? There is a Loser track." Will looked at Zach worryingly.

" I believe the proper term is Hero Support or Sidekick, as Principal Powers mentioned," Ethan spoke afterward.

" Whichever you become, you all will be the ones to save the world from evil." Principal Powers finished.
