Ch. 8 The Nurse's Office

Will watched Leah walk out of the GYM with the rest of their classmates and the student council. His eyes dimmed, feeling embarrassed that he was now the first ever Stronghold to be a sidekick.

' Dad will be so disappointed with the news of me being in Sidekicks.' He internally says.

He bit his inner cheek, imagining his father, the legendary superhero, the Commander, looking at him in disappointment. He saw his mother, Jet Stream, looking at him sadly with her hands on his sister, Leah, who was smirking at him.

" I feel sick." He groaned.

" I'll take you to the nurse's office," Layla says, looking at Will worryingly.

Will nodded, walking out of the GYM with Layla as they went to a separate path from the others to the Nurse's office.

Leah and Magenta followed their classmates and the student council to the cafeteria.

" This place is where we get our delicious food!" Speed dramatically says while waving his hands up and down.

" The Head Chef is his Mother," Lash explained.

" His mother is a talented Chef. Her cooking can heal you." Gwen smiled.

" That's so cool." Leah smiled, realizing that Speed's Mother was a Super and worked at their school.

Magenta's nose twitched.

" Is that Stinky Tofu I smell?" She asked, hugging Leah's arm and looking at her surroundings in a daze.

" My Mom can make someone's childhood dishes once they enter the room so they can feel comfortable." Speed explained.

Leah blinked, smelling her Grandmother's Biscuits and Gravy. She nodded and smiled, excited to try Speed's Mother's cooking.

" You guys can get a tray from over there." Penny and her clones point at a stack of trays to her right.

Leah and Magenta walked towards Penny, and the two girls each grabbed a try. Behind them, Warren and Larry did the same.

" Hey. Where did Phil go?" Zach asked, standing by Ethan and looking at his surroundings.

" Are you talking about Will?" Ethan asked.

Leah turned and looked at her surroundings, not seeing Will and Layla in the cafeteria.

' Where did they go?' She asked, looking confused and concerned.

" Leah. You are holding up the line." Magenta says, causing Leah to blink and see the rest of their class standing in line behind them.

" Ah. Sorry." Leah apologized, getting embarrassed.

She turned and walked towards the lunch ladies. She held the tray to them and watched them put a plate of biscuits and gravy on there with a fruit cup, cookie, and fruit punch.

" Thank you." She smiled.

" The utensils are over there. My name is Elizabeth Harris. Head Cook at Sky High." The older lady introduced herself.

Leah felt kindness and warmth radiating off of Mrs. Harris. She remembered Lash saying that the woman before her was Speed's Mother.

" Nice to meet you, Mrs. Harris. Thank you for the lunch." She takes the tray and walks away to get the utensils.

She got the utensils and turned to see Magenta, Warren, and Larry standing by with their lunch. The four teens walked towards a table and sat down.

" Biscuits and Gray?" Warren stared at Leah's food.
