Ch. 7 The First Stronghold Sidekick

Warren and Magenta smiled, happy for Leah to get into Hero placement despite almost being in Sidekicks.

" She's the first student able to change Coach Boomer's judgment. He almost placed her in sidekicks, but now she's a Hero." Ethan whistled, looking at Leah in awe.

Will looked at his surroundings, seeing the rest of their classmates look at his sister in awe. He looked at Leah and gulped, knowing they would expect him to be on par with his twin.

" I-I don't know if I can do this anymore." He stutters and looks at Layla.

Layla looks at Will and smiles at him.

" You'll be fine. Whichever placement you go, I'll follow you so you won't be alone." She reassured.

" I appreciate that." Will nodded.

Lash puts Mr. Boomer on his feet and brings his arms back to him. He and Speed looked at one another, impressed that Leah could quickly change their Coach's judgment.

Penny and her clones looked at one another, impressed with what they saw.

Gwen's eyes intently stared at Leah.

She recalled reading stories of Leah's Grandmother, Elizabeth Stronghold, aka Pureheart, at the Alumni Hallway. She remembered that Elizabeth was also close to being a Sidekick; however, like Leah, Elizabeth was able to change her teacher's mind, and she got placed into Hero's instead.

Principal Powers' gaze softened, excited to tell her best friend the good news about Leah's placement after the first day of school had ended.

Mr. Boomer composed himself, and he walked towards the stage.

Leah looked at Mr. Boomer and smiled at him.

" You can go stand next to Big Larry." Mr. Boomer motioned to the Hero side.

Leah playfully salutes Mr. Boomer and turns to look at Will.

" You got this." She mouths out.

Will didn't respond, watching Leah walk off the stage to stand next to Big Larry.

" Hi, Larry. Nice to meet you. I'm Leah Stronghold." Leah greeted.

" Hi, Leah! I'm Larry Berman. Cool power you have there. I'm impressed." Big Larry and Leah shook hands.

Mr. Boomer looked and saw that he had two heroes and one Sidekick. He held his notepad tightly and looked at the rest of the first-years.

" You!" He points to Magenta.

Magenta looked at Leah and smiled when she saw her best friend give her a thumbs up and mouth out Good Luck.

" Time to get this over with." She mumbles to Warren.

Warren watched Magenta walk towards the stage and stand next to Mr. Boomer.

" What can you do?" Mr. Boomer asked, looking at Magenta curiously.

" I can shapeshift," Magenta responded.

Mr. Boomer hummed.

" Demonstrate." He says.

Magenta nodded, transforming into a guinea pig with purple highlights and streaks in her fur, similar to her human hair.

" She is so cute." Leah gushed, looking at Magenta's guinea pig form.

Mr. Boomer looks down at Magenta.

" Is that all?" He asked.

" Pretty much." Magenta squeaks.

" Sidekick." Mr. Boomer says, watching Magenta walk out of the stage and towards Zach at the Sidekicks.
