"Okay I think I'm warm enough now" Bella said. "Athena are you warm" Bella asked Athena.
"Yeah, I'm good" Athena said. Bella went to turn the heat down with Edward doing the same causing them to touch hands as Athena noticed. "Your hand is so cold" Bella said.
"Maybe we should keep the heat on for him" Athena said and Bella nodded agreeing.
"Whoa what is going on" Bella asked as she saw the scene. "Bells dad is still here" Athena said seeing his car.
"Can you pull in" Bella asked Edward and he did. "That's my father's car on the end" Edward said.
"What is he doing here" Edward asked curious. "Let's go and see" Athena said as they all got out of the car. Carlisle came out as Edward, Bella, and Athena went to him.
"Carlisle what's going on" Edward asked. "Waylon Forge was found in a boat out near his place I just examined the body" Carlisle said as he couldn't help but steal a glance at Athena.
"He died" Bella asked and Carlisle nodded. "How" Bella asked. "Animal attack" Carlisle said.
"Again, don't these animals ever take a break" Athena asked. "Was it the same one that got that security guard down in Mason" Bella asked.
"Most likely" Carlisle said. "Well, it's getting closer to town then" Bella said. "Bella you and Athena should go inside Waylon was your father's friend" Carlisle said. "Okay" Bella said.
"I'll see you later" Bella told Edward and went inside with Athena. "You need to tell her Carsile she's your mate" Edward told him once Athena and Bella were out of earshot.
"I don't understand why you're purposely trying to stay away from her" Edward said.
"If I tell her I bring her into a world of vampires and risk her getting hurt or worse I rather suffer without her then see her hurt or worse" Carlisle said.
"You and I both know the mate bond is too strong to stay away sooner or later you're gonna cave" Edward said and Carlisle stayed silent knowing he was right.

"Dad" Athena said running to him as Bella made her way over to Charlie at normal pace. "Hey" Bella said to Charlie. "Hey" Charlie said back.
"Dad we're really sorry" Bella said. "I've known him going on 30 years" Charlie said.
"Oh dad" Athena said and hugged him as he hugged her back.
"Don't worry we're gonna find this thing meantime" Charlie said as Athena pulled away from the hug.
"I want you and Athena to carry this with you" Charlie said showing them the pepper spray. "I don't know if you" Bella started to say when Charlie interrupted.
"It'll give your old man some peace of mind" Charlie said. "Then we will" Athena said as she took one and Bella took the other. "Let's go home" Charlie said as they left.

Bella went to school the next day and was in the parking lot while Athena was talking with Jessica and Mike.
Bella found out Edward was a vampire last night, but she hadn't told Athena yet.
As she wanted to be sure before she told Athena. Bella saw Edward in the parking lot and walked right past him as Edward and Athena noticed.
Edward followed Bella as they walked away from the school. "You're impossibly fast and strong" Bella said once she stopped knowing Edward was behind her.
"Your skin is pale white and ice cold your eyes change color and sometimes you speak like you're from a different time you never eat or drink anything you don't go out in the sunlight" Bella said. "How old are you" Bella asked.
