Chapter 21

The next morning Minji woke up earlier than usual. She put on some workout clothes and headed to the back end of the house where she had a built-in gym for herself. This was one of the few splurges she did for herself when she got her father's money.

She needed to blow a little bit of steam off from last night. After the short argument with Hanni, all Minji did was shower and go to bed. When Minji got out of the shower, she found out Hanni already lying down in bed, pretending to be asleep. This was the first time in a long time that they didn't cuddle at all, each one of them stayed on their own side.

Minji spent her whole work out feeling guilty. She shouldn't have treated Hanni like that, not only was it wrong but she had been extremely disrespectful.

She was however startled by the sound of her ringtone.

"Oh fuck," Minji breathed out as she almost dropped the weights on her chest, she was doing bench pressing.

She set the weights down and went to go see who it was, she figured it was Kazuha. However she was a little surprised to see that it was Dr.Ramon. That was very strange.

"Kim Minji," she answered.

"Mrs Kim, I am sorry to call you this early," Dr.Ramon began.

"No it's fine, but what's going on?" Minji asked.

Dr.Ramon cleared his throat, "As you know, we have been treating Mr.Pham to the best of our abilities. Last week, we ran another set off test to see if there was any improvements with Mr.Pham's health."

"And was there?" Minji urged.

"I tried to tell Mr.Pham earlier but he refused to hear it," Dr.Ramon explained, "That's why I called you."

"What were the results?"

Dr.Ramon took a deep breath, "I'm afraid the treatment did him not good. It didn't help in the slightest.....the results also showed that the cancer has spread even more.....Mr.Pham only has a few more months to live."

Holy fuck.

"H-how many?" Minji managed to get out.

"8 months tops, and that's if he decides to take any medication," Dr.Ramon explained, "Without it we're looking at maybe 4 or 5."

"Fuck," Minji muttered.

"I am sorry Mrs Kim," Dr.Ramon said.

"Thank you for your call," Minji said before hanging up.

Minji felt breathless, how the hell was she going to tell Yoongi? How in the world was she going to tell Hanni!?

"Fuck!"

"I was kind of a meanie last night," Minji said, "Now I need to apologize. Do you think she will forgive me?"

Aiden stared back at Minji and smiled, he liked her.

After she had finished up in the gym, Minji showered and headed back to Hanni, yes she had a shower in the gym. As she made her way towards the master bedroom, she heard Aiden cry out, so she went to go check on him and surely enough he was already up.

Minji picked him up in her arms and headed to the bedroom.

She had to admit, she was kind of really attached to him, lately she's been cutting back at work so she could spend more time with him and Hanni. They really were in a good place.... well for now.

Minji entered the bedroom to find Hanni awake, she was on her phone, texting Minji presumed.

"You're awake before 9 am. Wow," Minji said.
