Minakshi's POV
I came out of the indoor gymnasium with my brother in law, who needed some help with his work.
"So can I expect you tomorrow at my office?"
"Yes, I will come whenever you want."
"Amazing! I really want to see her reaction when he recovers his problem."
"Well I can't assure you that I can help him. But I will try my best as a fellow practitioner..."
"Yes no issues. I was really looking for a practitioner for a while, when I found out you could control the four elements it felt like a heavy boulder came off my shoulder."
I smiled,"Happy to help."
"Help in what?" I heard the familiar voice of my husband.
"Oh Trishul, as Minakshi can control the four elements, I have a patient who used to do this but now lost everything so I thought maybe Minakshi could help."
"Control the five elements?" He looked shocked.
"Yes." I said and left the place, I can downstairs to the living room where the elders were eating snacks and having conversation. I sitted on the sofa and tried to indulge in the conversation but my mind got occupied by certain someone.
Trishul came downstairs and sat beside me, very close. I really don't want to talk about my powers to him, it's feels kind of weird and off putting. I know he must be curious but I will not say a thing, some secrets are meant to be with me.
"Talking about babies.... Minakshi?" Grandma called me, It broke the train of thoughts and I looked at her confused,"Huh?"
"Aww Minakshi herself is a baby how can we expect her to give birth to one?" Kakima (aunty) said. And that made me blush, I felt someone's gaze upon me, someone who is sitting beside me, someone who is my husband.
"Then why did she get married? Don't forget why a women and a man gets married to produce a child after that they must not look at eachother sexually. It will cause hindrance." Katayani maa spoke up authoritatively.
"Who asked for all the details?" My father in law mocked her, and Katyayani maa rolled her eyes.
"I am just reminding them." She added.
"Yes, it's high time that you two produce a heir. So Trishul what have you thought about it?" Kaka (uncle) asked.
Trishul went silence and looked at all the faces trying to say something.... What excuse will he make up now? I was waiting for a cold response.
"I think Minakshi is very young." He said. So he is blaming me?
"Isn't that a good thing?" Ambika asked and got a smack from her father instead,"watch your words."
"So you are waiting for when she will turn 50-" before uncle can complete Trishul interrupted,"NO NO... I am just waiting for her consent."
What?! Why is he blaming everything in me? It's not like if I say yes, he will run towards me to make love!
"So I guess you are not ready?" Kakima asked.
"I.... Ummm..." I looked at Trishul who was smiling. a rare sight I must say. What should I say?
"Yes." I said without looking at them, and noticed Trishul smile dropped. "No no..." I quickly replied and his smile came back. . . Wait what?
What does he want?
"Why are you replying while looking at Trishul. Is he forcing you?" Katyayani maa asked.
"What?!" Trishul yelled.
"No.. I mean..." Maa stammered.
"How can you utter something so cruel?!" He thundered and left the room.
"Trish! I am sorry... I didn't mean-"
"Dekhle to ki holo? Sudhu kharap kotha chhara mukhe to ar kichu thakena!" Father yelled.
(Did you see what happend? There's only bad words in your mouth and nothing else!)
Mother sighed.
"Can you please go and check on him." Grandma said while pressing my hand, I nodded and stood up, I went to the room and found him sitting on the bed while keeping his head in his palm.
What will I say to him? I should leave him alone, he must feel more disturbed seeing me. I turned around to leave.
"Minakshi? Ekhane asho..."
(Minakshi? Come here...)
I turned back at him and walked towards him and stand at a safe distance.
"Closer"
I moved a little bit closer.
"More closer."
I again moved, "Please... More.."
Why? I moved so close now that my legs touching his knees.
He looked at me with bloodshot eyes, and that shook me. Why is he looking so messed up?
"Can I touch you?" He asked. He sounds miserable.
I licked my lips and slowly nodded.
He smiled but it didn't touch his eyes, he is looking broken. He hold me by waist and pulled me closer, he placed myself on his lap and shoved his head on my neck.
I felt the hair on arms raise, butterflies started running wild on my stomach. What the-!
I took a shaky breakth, as my chest rose his head rose. Not to disturb him, I sat there quietly.
"You wait me don wu" he said something incoherent, as his lips pressed on my skin as he spoke, I felt his sharp beard tingled on my skin. This is how it feels to be held by a man.
"What?" I softly asked.
He moved his head away from my body and looked at me, it felt like a warmth left from my body and got replaced by coldness, it's like when prithvi (earth)move her face from Surya (sun) to the other side.
"You hate me, don't you?" He asked.
It felt like someone throw cold ice water on my face. "N-No! Absolutely not!"b
He scoffed,"Well you should." He said while looking away from me towards the painting of Shiv-Shakti on the wall across us.
"I treated you horrible, no wife deserves this kind of treatment from het husband. No father gives away the Laxmi (Goddess of wealth and abundance) of his house to another's just to get treated like this!" He confessed.
I sighed and looked away from him. He hold my hand moved it towards his face, his lips brushed over my knuckles. "I love you."
.
.
......
What?
What...?
I quickly shoved my hand from him and stood up and got away from it.
"Enough is enough!" I shouted,"Everything is allowed but do not throw this sentence just like that! Don't say it when you don't mean it! I understand that you feel sorry and even guilty but.... DO NOT SHOW YOUR PITY TOWARDS ME BY PLAYING WITH MY FEELINGS." I turned around and went out of the room. My feet lead me to the garden and towards the temple of Maa Durga, I can't bare this anymore.
I looked straight towards the fiery eyes of maa,"Hey Adi Shakti! Give me your strength!''
