Chapter 10

"Ya ilahi I'm late" I mumbled wearing my sneakers, I stuff all the items I need inside my backpack, thank God my laptop is with Mr.Sam, I pick my phone and hopped downstairs

"Good morning Ammie" I said sipping my coffee

"Morning Habibty, how comes you're late" she asked

"I forget to set my alarm" I answer stuff pancakes inside my mouth

"Eat careful dear" Ammie said passing me my meds and glass of water

I take my meds and wipe my mouth with napkin before dashing out

"Good morning Malam Idi" I greet the driver

"Ykk Hajiya karama(How are you Small madam)"he asked

"Lfy dan Allah ka dan yi sauri nayi late sosai(Fine, please drive fast I'm already late)" I said

"Toh hajiya, ay na dauka ma bazaki fita ba yau(okay madam, I thought you're not going out today)"he said starting the car

He roar the car to life and zoomed out of the house, we arrived at the gate by 8:30

"Ya Rahman what will I say to the principal, I pray she won't see me" I mumbled

I just walked to the class and saw our Biology teacher teaching, Ya Allah he will disturb me with his drama

"Good morning sir" I greet him

"Aisha Muhammed is it now that you're coming to school" Mr. Adebayo asked

"I wake up not feeling good and I went to the hospital for checkup" I lied

"Oh sorry dear, hope you're feeling better now" he asked

"Yeah I'm after taking some injections and meds" I said playing along

"You should have stayed at home and rest then resume tomorrow" he said

"I don wanna miss your class that why"I said getting tried of his question

"Ohh you shouldn't worry, now go to the clinic and rest" he said

"No I will just manage, I'm feeling better now" I said rolling my eyes and walk to my seat, I heard some of my classmates chuckling

He continue his class and the next teacher comes in, he went out after given us some Take home and the bell was rang

"Bestie why did you come late" Afnan asked

"I miss my alarm"I replied curtly

"Okay let get something to eat then" Afnan said, she knows that I'm not in the mood to talk to much, we went to the cafeteria and order the food, the day went off so fast and we close, I saw the driver instead of Ammie and we zoomed back home.

"Assalam Alaikum" I salamed but no one answered

I went to the kitchen but no one is there, I then fetch my phone from my backpack and dialed Ammie's number

Me: Hello Ammie

Ammie: Assalam Alaikum(that's how she correct me from saying hello)

Me: Wa'alaikumu Salam

Ammie: How you and how is school dear

Me: it was good Alhamdulillah, Ammie I'm back and no one is here

Ammie: I've drop a massage for you, something came off in the fashion house and I have to stay there and Shamiya went out to get some veggies, but I will be back home before magrib

Me: okay Ammie bye, with that I end the call, I stroll to my room and take a relaxing shower before sliding into blue loose knee length gown, I tie my hair into a loose bun, I connect my headphones and play DANDELIONS, hopped downstairs mimicking the song

I dash to the kitchen and start thinking of what to eat, I decide to make chicken sandwiches with watermelon smoothie, thank goodness Ammie always keep marinated chicken in fridge I mumbled putting some pieces into a bowl

With in 10 minutes my sandwich is ready, I add ice cubes to my smoothie and I sit in the kitchen island and start eating my food,
"Let me watch a movie in Netflix before Ammie comes back"I stuff some chocolate in a bowl and surfed through Netflix and decide to watch "chalet girl"

Few minutes watching the movie and I get bored, i walk to the garden to have some fresh air not before tiring scarf over my loose hair, I sit in a bench watching the birds and butterflies flying around freely, I click pictures of them and on my data after editing the picture, massage keep trooping in, I reply some massages on IG and before reply those on WhatsApp, I saw massage from an unknown number

Unknown number:Hey beauty😍

Me: hi

Unknown number: how you

Me: I'm good

Unknown number: that's great

Me: yeah

Unknown number: let know more about each other if you don't mind😁

Me: okay no problem 😌

Unknown number: I'm Sadiq as I told you early, I live here in Abuja with my parent and Sister

Me: I'm Eshma, living in Abuja with my parents and siblings

Unknown number:Mashaa Ahllah, can we meet please

Me:I will think about it

Unknown number: okay then

I off my data and hopped back to the sitting room, I decided to call Dad, I did not see him for year, I'm over acting it just for two days, he answer after few rings

Me: Assalam Alaikum

Dad: Wa'alaikumu Salam

Me: Good evening Dad

Dad: evening Eshma how are you

Me: I'm fine Dad

Dad: Masha'allah

Me: how's work

Dad: it good Alhamdulillah

Me: Dad are you coming back home early today

Dad: yes I will In shaa Allah

Me: okay see you later bye

Dad: bye bye

"Assalam Alaikum" Ammie salamed

"Wa'alaikumu Salam" I answer running to hug her, Ammie I miss you

"I miss you too my Habibty, Let me go and fresh up, your Dad will be back soon and I have to prepare dinner" Ammie said

"Okay Ma'am(sneeze)Alhamdulillah " I said and sneezed, I think I catch a cold

"What happen, why are you sneeze, did you take cold thing, did you stay outside without you scarf" She scold

"No Ammie I only take smoothie" I half lied

"Why are you lying to me, you add ice cubes to the smoothie and you seat in the garden with out scarf" she barked

"Ammie i promise I wear my scarf"I reply with guilt

"Then why did you add ice cubes to your smoothie" she asked in a soft tone

"Ammie I'm so sorry, I promise I won't do that again" I said

"It's okay you're going to take garlic and clove tea" she said dashing to her room, eww I hate garlic and clove tea

She get ready and come downstairs, I help her prepare the dinner and I drink my ginger tea before sleeping.
