When ever the brothers unintentionally made Branch cry they would be ignored until Branch was calmed down.

They would also punish themselves by allowing each brother annoy them for however long Branch cried.

But when Baby Branch finally calmed down, the brothers would all hug and cuddle up together, meaning that all was forgiven.

(They still do this as adults! If they make Branch cry they're ignored until he's calmed down, and then the others annoy the brother who made him cry for however long Branch cried, as punishment, then they all cuddle up!)
