Zayn held open the door for me and I walked into the English building. I shook the rain out of my hair and Zayn’s varsity jacket off of my shoulders. It hadn’t been raining earlier, but it had started up at the end of first block and being the gentleman that Zayn was, he offered me his jacket. I held the jacket slightly away from my body as I followed Zayn, who was now dragging his shoes against the carpet of the lobby in order to try to get the water off them. I did the same as I followed him to the first classroom to the right of the building entrance.

When I walked in, I noticed that it was pretty much the same as the math building except the walls were covered in posters. There had colorful letters spelling things out  like How to use a semicolon and  How to construct a well written sentence. Only five seconds in the classroom and  I could already tell that this class was going to be interesting.

The teacher wasn’t in the classroom yet, but on the board in neat, cursive handwriting it read that we could chose our seats. I glanced over at Zayn and saw he was using the reflection of his phone to fix and style his sopping wet hair, so deciding that I would have to find us seats, I glanced back around the classroom.

“Hey Alex!” I heard an Irish accent call out. “Over here!” I scanned the classroom once more until I spotted Niall, not sure how I missed him before. “I saved you a seat!” He was located in the back of the room with his arm resting on the back of the empty seat next to him. He was wearing a gray polo with his black backpack resting on top of his desk.

One thing I could get used to was the way guys dressed here; I always loved guys who dressed well. Just spending a week in London I noticed that  everywhere I looked there were nicely dressed guys which was a noticeable improvement to the guys back home in New York. Niall was still looking at me so I nodded and then turned back to Zayn. I didn’t really want to leave him, but then again Niall had saved a seat for me. I looked to him pleadingly.

“Go ahead,” he said. “You can sit with him and I’ll just sit with my friend Luke.” He gestured to a boy in front of Niall. “And that way I will still be near you.”

“Are you sure?” I asked.

“Yeah,” he smiled. “Now go before Niall gets impatient and calls out again.”

“Thanks.” I handed him his jacket, but he pushed it back towards me.

“Keep it in case it’s still raining when class gets out and if it isn’t you can just give it to me then.”

“Thanks again.” I said and then made my way over to where Niall was sitting.

“Hey,” he said as I set my bag down on the floor beside my desk. “What took you so long? I was afraid you would ditch me for pretty boy.”

“No. I was just thanking him. And I guess I should thank you for saving me a seat,” I smiled.

“No problem. How was first block?”

“Okay, I guess. Everything was going well until Harry completely embarrassed me in front of everyone. I am never sure what that boy is going to do half of the time.”

Niall laughed, “Really what did he do?”

“He wouldn’t let me go until I agreed to hang out with him and his new girlfriend,” I said rolling my eyes.

“Nice! Get it in there, Styles!”

My mouth snapped open and before I even realized it I slapped Niall on the arm, hard.

“Ow! What was that for?” He asked rubbing his arm.

“For being disgusting.” I said, but then automatically felt bad. “But sorry Niall. I didn’t mean to hit you.”
