Part 27

"Please wake up." Ryan was shouting. The ambulance was moving at the speed of lightning.

"God....please save him!" Ryan was crying.

He ran inside the hospital and a bleeding Bassim was placed in a stretcher and wheeled into the OT.

"Don't worry, all will be well." Muzy held Ryan.

"I don't know. I cannot afford losing him." Ryan was sobbing like a baby.

"The patient is in critical stage. We need A negative blood immediately. So arrange for it." The nurse told and ran inside the OT.

"Heyy I think I can donate." Ayena said immediately.

"Are you sure? You aren't well." Afaq told.

"If I can save someone then that would be a great thing for me. I am perfectly fine. Let's go for the procedure." Ayena pulled Afaq.

"I would be grateful to you forever." Ryan said.

"Hey! we are family." Afaq hugged him.

"The patient wants to see Ryan. Who is Ryan among you?" The nurse said.

Ryan ran to the room. Bassim was weak and he struggled to speak, "Bro, I am sorry for all the trouble o have caused you. I think I am going to our parents."

"No, you cannot leave me." Ryan cried.

"You wished for me to die. This sinner should die soon." Bassim smiled and just then he started breathing heavily.

"No, no.....nurse doctor.. Please come soon." Ryan started shouting.

"Just go outside. We need to do our work." The nurse pushed Ryan outside the room.

Ryan was devasted. He had seen his parents pass away just before his eyes. And now his brother was on his death bed. No matter how much he hated the sins his brother committed, he loved his brother immensely due to their relation.

Ayena was feeling restless. So she thought of taking a stroll outside the hospital garden. It was late afternoon and since Afaq was tired, he fell asleep. She thought not to disturb him and left the room.

As she was walking, she thought of having a look at Bassim's ward. She quietly opened the door. As she saw him, she started feeling dizzy.

"It is him. It is him." She shouted and in no time she fell on the ground. Afaq held her and she was rushed to the OT.

"How dare you hide such a thing with me?" Afaq punched Ryan.

"I am sorry. I was helpless." Ryan pleaded.

"Would you have done the same if Ayena was your sister?" Afaq asked.

Ryan was speechless. He was ashamed of hiding his brother's sins.

After an hour,

Ayena regained her conscious.

"She is out of danger and has got her memory back. You can meet her now." The doctor told Afaq.

Afaq hugged Ayena, "Thanks to Allah , you are safe."

"Afaq, I think we should forgive Bassim. Please close this case. Allah has given him the punishment which he deserved. He has already lost his limbs. I think we shouldn't be harder on him." Ayena held Afaq's hands.

"If this is what you want. Then I'll do as you say." Afaq said softly.

"I love you." Ayena hugged him.

"I love you too." He hugged her back.

"As per your wish we are closing this case Mr. Afaq." The inspector said.

Afaq nodded his head.

"Bassim, I just want to ask one question. Why did you do that to me?" Ayena asked him.

"It was an accident. I was paid to push Muzy." Bassim said.

All were shocked.

"Me?? Why??" Muzy asked.

"Your step brother Hamza paid me. He wanted to have all the property for himself. " Bassim said.

"How can he be so selfish? I have already left everything to him. Still he isn't satisfied? I have left my home and the country too at the age of 15 with my Ammi. When Ammi passed away I was left alone and only I know how much I struggled to even live. It was during that time I met Ryan. If he wasn't with me I would haven't been alive. He saved me from committing suicide that day." Muzy became emotional.

"Your step father's will said that at the age of 23, you will be the owner of half of the property." Bassim said.

"Ryan did you know about all this?" Muzy asked.

"Ryan, bhai is not at fault. He doesn't know anything about this. Please don't blame him.You can hand me over to the police. I am ready for that. But please don't leave my brother. He loves you."Bassim pleaded.

"I trust Ryan." Muzy said.

"The day I found out about Hamza, he caused this accident. Luckily, I was saved. He was fed up of my demands for paying me to keep my mouth shut. I am sorry Ayena. It was just an accident. I am sorry Muzy. Please forgive me." Bassim was crying.

Both Ayena and Muzy felt bad for Bassim. They forgave him.

But the real culprit had to be put behind bars. So, Afaq contacted the police and gave every information to them

"How does it feel to be behind the bars brother?" Muzy asked.

Hamza became angry," I will not spare you."

"Get out of this place first to spare me!" Muzy said angrily.

"Welcome to the new place Hamza." Afaq said.

Hamza gritted his teeth.

"I pity you. You still haven't mend your ways even after your wife and daughter left you because of your selfish nature. You are all alone Hamza and the time has come to pay for your deeds." Afaq said.
