"Well I say to start from District Eleven and then we will see how it will go," Calista suggested. Three days later her people and she had decided to ask people from the districts around if there was something that they didn't need that much so they could give it to them. No food, no clothes. They had much of it after years and they were willing to offer some to the other districts where little kids, parents, and grandparents were starving.
There was no hate between districts, never and Calista didn't only "steal" for her district. She would give whatever remained from food, clothes, or accessories to other people who needed them. It was really funny how rich people were in the Capitol, as no matter how many things she secretly put in her bag, they always came back with more. Sometimes she wished she could read their minds, what were they thinking when they were selling all those things to their people as they didn't need them.
The passion they were shouting behind their benches to arouse people's interest. It felt like they had so many things that in their eyes were nothing, while to other people could be everything. Calista could hear them sometimes sigh with annoyance because they couldn't get rid of what was in front of them. However, Calista had never grown up that way. She grew up in poverty, like everyone from the districts so she couldn't understand how it felt to have too much that you have to sell them to make space for new, more fancy objects.
"Yes but what about the first three districts?" A man asked, "I have heard that they are closer to the Capitol and the circumstances there aren't as bad as here."
"We won't lose something if we offer help or ask for anything they don't need. Besides, as you said their lives are a lot better which means everything and anything above will have to offer us right?" Calista replied with a small smile "It doesn't make them less people guys."
"I agree," A woman said with hesitation "But what if they hate us as well because they are closer to the Capitol?" She had a point. One, two, and three were the closest to the Capitol and they had almost the same rights as them, so the possibilities to hate people from all the other districts were a lot.
"Alright," Calista said, seeing the worry in their eyes. "We can start with eleven, ten, nine, and eight and we will see for the others. I will go one day to check how things are there and then we will decide okay?" All of them nodded and she smiled. She couldn't put their lives at risk since it was her idea to visit places except for theirs.
"Hey!" Christy pulled Calista's dress before she took a step to follow the others. She was wearing a long, white dress with small black details in different parts of it. She had seen it the first day she visited the Capitol and she couldn't leave it behind. The combination of black and white represented pure light, and darkness exactly how her life was all these years. There was light inside of her but many times the darkness of the place she had grown up dominated, taking with it every spark and innocence she had.
