The jiggling of bangles caught his attention. He turned his head towards the sound to find her. And there she was. Over the bridge that connected the mountains. The pearl like water droplets were just a little away from touching her. The waterfall behind her cascading down with a force held a beauty in it's depth. But the real beauty that made it noticeable was the girl standing there with open arms as colorful butterflies surrounded her.

Mate!

"God, I’m going to love doing this every day for the rest of our lives."

He leaned down, taking her mouth in a soft kiss. It’s lazy and sweet, like he had all the time in the world to kiss her. He pulled back, and his dark blue eyes scanned her face. His coal-dark hair looked like he had been running his hands through it, or maybe she had.

"Still doesn’t feel real that we’re married."

He moved in a little closer, his bare legs tangling with hers. They had lost their clothes somewhere between the distance from the door to the bed.
His hand came to her face, and she leaned into it while his thumb traced her lips. She felt his other hand moving under the blanket, coming to settle on her bare stomach.

"I’m not going to let you leave this bed anytime in near future. I’m going to enjoy every second of my new wife."

He took her mouth again, and this time she pushed her tongue into his. He made her feel safe, pushing away the darkness and filling it with him only. She gripped him tighter, wanting him closer. Needing to feel him against herself.

He pulled back though and started kissing down her neck. It felt like his mouth was everywhere, not leaving any part of her unkissed as he worked his way down her body, stopping at her navel and licking around it. She smiled down at him, and his eyes found hers.
A dimple formed in his cheek, the little bit of scruff on his face doing nothing to hide it. It made her stomach flutter in anticipation.

“You know, Sree, it's a good thing that we have infinity ahead. Even forever seems too short when I have you with me."

He stared down at himself. Drenched in blood. Dead bodies were all around. Missing vital body parts laid here and there after being ripped off from bodies. Sometime between the fight he had changed into his human form.

And there was she. Standing a few feet away from him with a horrified look on her face.

"No! You can't!"

She gasped out. But he didn't respond or showed any emotion as he took an axe in his hand.

"No! Arudra? I'm your mate!"

Mate.

That word was like a sharp knife lodge inside his heart and was twisted every time he saw her.

But still his face remained void of any emotion as he gripped the axe tightly before hurling it towards her.

"No!"

A last gasp left her mouth just before the axe hit her neck and her head rolled down on earth.

Sreeshanvika sat on the table that was reserved for the bride and groom. A few of his friends and family members were sitting with them. She stiffened as Dushyant put his hand on the back of her chair and leaned closer to her. The ceremony of the marriage would take place after the challenge. The army general of Vrikajinas, Dhundumar was open to be challenged tonight. That's why there was so much hustle and bustle tonight. All the powerful elders of the council were present. The Adhizas of most of the significant Samudays could be seen too. Mahamantri Varchas who was also present had left a while ago to somewhere.
