The sun was setting now. Rogue and I had been sitting on the cliff for hours. She was nice, but she still had no idea who my father is.
"I assume that you got powers," she said, as if reading my mind. "That's the only reason the X-men allowed you on this island."
"Well they didn't technically allow me on this island," I said. "It was kinda Charles' choice and the other X-men didn't really get a say in it."
"Oooh, so Professor X mus' think you're special," she said. "What are your powers?"
"I can manipulate emotions through scent," I said.
"Wow, you are special then," said Rogue. "I ain't met nobody who has that power."
Rogue looked between me and my father, confused.
"We all know you don't care if you're on 'X-men territory'." Logan spat. "You'll do whatever pleases you and your sick games."
"Strong talk for someone who only hours ago wanted to be my family again!" I yelled, standing up. "You have no right to come talk to me about making up or any of that bullshit!"
"Why don't I have the right? What have I ever done to hurt you?"
"What have you ever done to hurt me? What have you ever done to hurt me?"
I took a step forward but Rogue jumped between us, hands flying out to stop us.
"Stop!" she cried. "Whatever thing happened in the past between you two is in the past now! You two will make up or I'll make you. I don't care if your arch-enemies or somethin' but I can't stand seein' people like this. You two make up right now."
"Sorry Rogue but not today," I said, grabbing Rogue's arm and pushing her away, storming to my father.
Wolverine swung a punch at me, hitting me in the face. I punched him back, sending him away from the cliff. Wolverine pulled his claws out and swung at me, making me backup toward the cliff. I duck a slash of metal and grab my father's arm, pulling him over me and slamming him to the ground. I didn't realize how close to the cliff edge we had gotten. My father's head was hanging off the edge of the cliff, dangling above the jagged rocks below.
"I know you're going to walk away from this," I said, pinning him to the ground. "But it would be so nice to be rid of you for five minutes."
Right before I'm about to send him to a normal mutant's demise, strong arms pulled me off him. I yelled and kicked but Beast held strong. I watched in anger as Scott pulled Logan up. Why can I never get a job done?
"I told you he was no good," said Scott, glaring at me.
"No," said Wolverine, wiping blood from his mouth. "He's not no good, he's too much like me. Let 'im go Hank."
Beast dropped me but I didn't run or fight, I knew better.
"Are you alright, Rogue?" Logan asked gently.
Rogue nodded, eyes fixed on Daken.
"You didn't die," she said to him. "You didn't die when you touched me."
"Why would I die if I touched you?"
"That's my mutant power," she said sadly. "It's more of a curse bu' Logan says it's alright. He's the only one who won't die. I guess you don't either. Do you 'ave a healin' factor too?"
I nodded.
"What other powers didn't you tell me about?" Rogue demanded, taking an accusatory step toward Daken.
"Um . . ." said Daken.
"He has all the powers I have plus the ability to control emotions and telepathic immunity,"
"Wait, I have telepathic immunity?" Daken said, confused. "Then how the hell did Charles get in my head?"
"It took Xavier most of his strength to get inside your head," said Hank. "But, according to Charles' theory, if you, let's say, tap into your abilities, they will come into full effect."
"You shouldn't've told him Hank!" Scott reprimanded. "That was supposed to be our little secret!"
"Well Logan told him,"Scott turned scowling to Logan.
"Seems like you guys have some stuff to go over," said Daken. "I'll just go."
