The next morning was far different from the previous one for all the girls. Firstly, Windy woke up to the smell of burnt eggs and Eddie saying "Shit. Shit. Shit." not so quietly.
Getting up off the bed, Windy realizes she spent the night at Eddie's. Which is uncommon, but not surprising. Making her way to the kitchen she sees Eddie throwing away very burnt eggs. "How'd you manage that?" she asks, making him jump in surprise.
"Geez Win, don't do that." he says, placing a hand over his heart.
She holds her hands up in surrender, "Sorry. Your burnt food woke me." she teases, making him sigh.
"I wanted to make you an 'I'm Sorry' breakfast for spending the night, but I fucked up." he admits, tossing the pan in the sink.
"I would have been good with toast, you know." she tells him. As if on cue, the toaster dings, and out pops up two burnt pieces of toast. "You know cooking just isn't your thing."
As for Lizzie, she had a very different morning, waking up in a room she doesn't recognize with an arm around her bare waist. Looking behind her she is met with a sleeping Billy Hargrove. She let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding knowing she didn't hook up with some weirdo after the party. But it did make her realize that she completely ditched her friends and forgot to get El candy. Her peaceful morning just became stressful.
And now, Bella. Normally her mornings were boring. She'd be alone, make breakfast, get ready, then go to school. But waking up to the smell of pancakes was slightly alarming. Getting out of bed as quietly as possible, she grabs the bat she keeps under her bed before slowly creeping down the stairs. She pauses outside the kitchen door, telling herself to just rush in and hit the cooking bandit.
Before she could convince herself to enter, Steve exits, making Bella scream in surprise raising the bat before pausing seeing who it was. "What the hell Bella!" he shouts, back to the door as he carefully holds plates of food.
Last night comes back to her and she lowers the bat letting out a breath of relief. "Oh, it's just you."
"Yeah, it's me. Who the hell did you think it was?" he asks, taking a breath before leading her to the dining room.
"A robber..." she admits shyly, making him raise an eyebrow.
"That was making breakfast?" he questions.
"Okay, I forgot you were here Steve. I'm sorry, but you scared me." she tells him, falling in the seat as he sits next to her placing the food in front of them. "Thank you. You didn't have to do this, I could have-"
Steve cuts her short, "It's fine, I got up first. Figured I'd surprise you." he says with a shrug.
"That's really nice of you Steve." she tells him before looking at her food. "This looks amazing."
"Tastes amazing too." he says, taking a bite of his eggs, making her laugh.
Each girl got to school differently than they would normally. Windy drove with Eddie, arriving first. Next Lizzie arrived with Billy and Max, silently debating if she enjoyed the speed he drove or hated it. And lastly, was Steve and Bella, who gained far more attention than either of them was hoping for. But when seemingly polar opposites arrived at a destination together, people were going to look, and people were going to talk. Especially when the King of the school Steve Harrington walks her to her locker.
Windy and Lizzie waste no time rushing to her side when Steve leaves. "What the hell was that?" Lizzie questions in excitement seeing her friend interact with a boy that wasn't her friend.
"What the hell was what?" Bella asks back, not bothering to look at her friend as she switches her books and notebooks around.
"I mean," Lizzie closes the girls locker making her sigh in frustration, "What the hell was that with Steve? He drove you to school? He walks you over here? Where's Nancy?" She throws out many questions.
