"I just don't know what his problem is. I don't remember doing anything bad to him. All I said is my mom doesn't like guys being around me at home when I'm alone" I said walking around the school halls with Olivia and Eleanor.

Gresham hasn't talked to me at all since Friday night he won't even answer my texts just leaves me on read.

"Maybe he wanted to hang out with you that night" Olivia said.

"But I was tired and almost passed out once I got out of the shower" I said.

When we turned the corner we bumped into Alessio and Silas. Alessio looked me up and down with a neutral look on his face as always but Silas looked at Olivia with a smile, a genuine one.

Weird.

"Hey Olivia, hi Gabriela" Silas said.

"Hey Silas" Olivia said.

"Hey" I said.

I looked back up at Alessio to see him already staring down at me. We held eye contact with a weird sensation for about a minute before I looked away, breaking the tension that was in it.

"What are you guys off to?" Silas asked.

"Were off to class I'll see you in Science Silas" Eleanor said with a big smile before walking off towards class.

Olivia and I walked to class but before we entered class we heard someone calling my name turning around. I saw Drake running down the hallway. He was running so fast that he slammed into the wall.

Drake was a senior on the football team that I've known since I was in fifth grade. We were really good friends until high school when he got really popular but overall he's not one of those rich snotty popular kids.

And he also had a 3.8 gpa which is one of the highest. Only one person had a better gpa than him but no one knows who it is since the person doesn't want anyone to know – Principals words. –

Drake smiles down at me and gives me a note. It was a regular lined paper folded. I opened it up and read it, my eyebrows scrunching up.

Gabriela,

I'm sorry for avoiding you for the last week but if you come meet me behind the bleachers alone I will explain to you my reason

-Graham

Alone?

Why alone?

I folded the paper back and walked into class sitting down at the seat. I looked at the board to see that we had to write a two page essay about the book we read. I groaned, grabbing my computer out.

Do we really have to do this?

As soon as the bell rang, everyone was sitting in their seats and Mrs. Weavers walked in, basically saying that we would be writing a two-page essay - that was written on the board - and then she sat at her desk as usual.

I practically groaned, wanting to cry. I hate writing essays. I despise them because I'm so horrible at writing them.

Taking out my computer I began typing things in the book but after reading the first paragraph I had no idea what I wrote because it was a bunch of scrambled words in a paragraph.

Why do we need to take English again?

"This essay is going to ruin my grade" I mumbled.

"Same" Silas said.

"I can do your essay for you" Olivia said.

"Wouldn't that count as cheating?" I asked.

"Yeah but how's she gonna find out" Olivia smirked.

"Oh I don't know, maybe she'll think 'hey didn't I read this from Olivia's essay'" I said and Olivia rolled her eyes.

"Just let me do it. I love English and I'm actually really good at it" She said, taking my computer and began typing.

"What about your essay? Shouldn't you do mine after you do yours?" I asked.

"I'll do it at home and it won't take me any time to do yours" She said.

And she wasn't lying it took her maybe twenty five or thirty minutes to write the essay for me and after she was done she did hers which she finished right before the bell rang.

The next three classes went by pretty quick and by lunchtime I remembered I had to meet up with Gresham behind the bleachers near the football field grabbing a school salad. I quickly ate it before walking towards the football field.

While walking across the field some of the school boys were playing football including Silas and Alessio.

Gresham was leaning against one of the poles attached to the bleachers. I walked up to him and it was pretty awkward until he talked.

"Sorry I haven't been talking to you, I've had a lot going on" He said.

"Oh that's okay I've been hanging out with Olivia and Eleanor" I said.

"I've noticed" He grumbled.

"May I ask what has been going on though?" I asked.

"My uncle. He has lung cancer and only has about two months left to live. The cancer spread to his body faster than my dad thought it would."

"Gresham I'm sorry" I said and wrapped my arms around his torso hugging him.

It was quiet for a couple of minutes until he broke the silence by pulling away.

"But I asked you here because I needed to do something here with you" He said and I raised my eyebrows in confusion.

"Wha-" Before I could finish Gresham kissed me.

Like full on kissing me smashing his lips on mine and pushing his tongue through my lips I can't say I didn't like it but I can't say I liked it either when he pulled away he stepped back with a grin on his face.

I was still a little shocked.

Especially since I only see him as a friend.

Nothing more.

"That was amazing" he smirked.

"Uhh..yeah it was" I said with a small smile. A fake one.
