“She was the moon and I was the star.
Can’t even adore her, she was so far.
Day even hid her, giving me pain. Seeing us apart, clouds even rained.”
My voice trailed like a song around me in a melodious tone.
The darkness of a stormy night is somehow captivating as we three—me, Dhruv and bhabhi—sat in the lounge area of the airport.
Mum didn’t let Rishika come with us as she has tests tomorrow.
So, here we are, waiting for that gorgeous woman.
The flight has been late due to the bad weather. And since then, I am just praying to God for only one thing.
Please keep my Aridhi safe in every sense of the world.
“Ruvit,” I glanced at bhabhi when she took my name. “You sing so well, even if it is just poetry.” Bhabhi complimented.
She was sitting beside me and I just gave her a nod, my eyes filled with gratitude.
Singing or poetry is just a hobby, a habit to communicate my inner thoughts and feelings, for her.
Only for her.
I improved—worse, I even learnt—singing for a certain someone who is not leaving my head ever since I got to know about her landing.
“But it holds so much pain.” She looked at me, her face glowing with a hint of sadness, mixed with confusion.
“Does it?” I mumbled. It might be because of the flight’s delay and out of Aridhi’s safety.
“Because of her.” I replied before I could stop myself, my eyes lost in a daze.
“Who?” I heard her ask with curiosity on which Dhruv supplied immediately. “Aridhi.”
He covered his mouth in an instance as if he just made a mistake by speaking her name.
Mistake, not. Her name is as precious as her. And it can’t be a mistake.
Her name is actually so soothing for my soul that I didn’t know I needed, I wanted and I ever craved.
“What?” Her eyes almost narrowed, shifting her gaze between me and Dhruv. “Are you guys serious?”
“Uh,” Dhruv hesitated, staring in my direction, silently asking for my permission to continue.
So, I gave it. When I nodded, he asked rather than explaining. “Why? Is there any problem, bhabhi?”
“Actually, no. I would be very happy if Ruvit loves Aridhi and is so devoted to her.” She conveyed.
“But that madam is already married.” Bhabhi rolled her eyes, making me anxious and on the verge of a heart attack.
“What?” I mumbled as my throat got heavy, as if someone put chains around my neck.
