Finally the day everyone was waiting for arrived. The day my elder brother was going to become a husband and his responsibilities were going to be increased as the eldest son.
It was barely 8 AM in the morning yet the entire hotel was in commotion, making sure all the arrangements were done at its best.
Around the corner of the room, I sat on the couch, my laptop blinking back at me. Taking a sip from my black coffee and scrolling through the phone, I read documents my employees had sent me.
Yes, I couldn’t go to the office but it doesn’t mean I had no work to do.
Just then, I saw Narmada aunty coming towards me. As she stopped in front of me, I stood up from my seat.
“Did you need something, aunty?” I asked.
“Beta, I didn’t want to disturb you but no one has woken up yet except you.” She replied in an apologetic tone.
I shook my head, assuring her. “It’s okay. I will do it. Just tell me what it is?”
“Will you go and buy me some fresh flowers?” Her voice carried hope. “They are not available here.” She stated.
“Yeah, sure aunty, no problem but—” I tried to speak but she cut me off. “Yeah I know. You must have no idea about Ridhima’s preference.”
I just gave her a nod in acknowledgement.
“Take Aridhi with you.” She immediately suggested, pointing towards the balcony where Aridhi was standing.
I turned my head in her direction and my breath hitched at the vision of her.
She was looking beautiful in her short black kurti, paired with bell bottoms and heels. It looked simple but she had a way to style it elegantly.
Her hair was flying across her face as she combed through them.
“Ruvit?” Narmada aunty snapped her fingers in front of my face. “Ah, yes?” I looked at her, scolding myself internally.
Without even doing anything, Aridhi had the power to control me. My attention just shifts to her whenever she is around me, undivided.
“You know Manish’s preference, right?” Aunty asked and once again, I gave her a nod. “Okay.” She walked away.
I turned around and walked towards Aridhi. She sensed my presence before I could say something. Even her body knew.
“Good morning.” Still struggling with her strands, she wished me, her voice already making my day better.
“Good morning.” I wished back. I stood closer beside her, whispering. “Baby.” Her cheeks flushed, a satisfied smile gracing my lips.
She opened her mouth to speak but Narmada aunty’s stern voice came from the hallway. “Tum dono.. abhi tak yahi ho? Jaldi jao na.”
