Meri kitabon mein mehak te huye gulaab si yaad ho tum, meri tanhaai ke andhere aasman ka chand ho tum.” He blurted out.

[You are a memory like a fragrant rose in my books, you are the moon in the dark sky of my loneliness.]

He was staring at me while blinking continuously by now. “What?” I asked with a dumbfounded expression.

Is he proposing to me or what?

OMG! What a start to my new session.

Even though I don’t know him. He seems new here. But looking at him so closely, he has this extraordinary boyish charm that made my heart flutter.

“Uhm...sorry! I was randomly saying all that.” What. The. Fuck.

Flustered, he walked away hurriedly without saying anything further. At least he could wait for my reaction.

He seemed too much nervous just now.

What was he even thinking? I’m not any ghost or something that scared the shit out of him dude.

I scoffed to myself. “Weirdo.”

“Do you know we are having a new student?” Nandini asserted, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

Nandini Malhotra; my bestie, my soulmate, my everything since class 1st and now, here we are, in class 10th.

Today was our first day, the beginning of a new class and everyone was chatting randomly within their friend circle.

“Maybe a bad boy.” I shrugged at her on which she chuckled. “Not all boys are the same, Aru. You should at least give them a chance.”

Aru! A pretty nickname given by this pretty girl.

“I know.” I sighed. “Not all boys are the same but eventually they will make you feel like they are no different.”

She narrowed her eyes to my statement.

What? It’s not like I’m lying. It’s practically proven.

I only like my fictional men I read about in books and some of those korean and chinese actors. And of course, BTS.

They are the total standards if anyone asks me. Hehe.

“Attention everyone.” Teacher’s loud voice attracted everyone’s eyes on her. “We have a new student. I hope you all become good friends.”

She turned her gaze in the door’s direction. I followed her gaze and I felt like my heart just came out because no way, are you fucking kidding me?

The same guy I met in the corridor, that weirdo, was standing nonchalantly at the door.

Was he going to be in our class, in the same section as mine?

“Ruvit.” One word, five alphabets put together in his deep voice and I’m already swooning.

Uff, his name is very unique and sounds hot. Just like him.

No, no. Aridhi Agarwal!
Get back to your senses right now.

“Ruvit, you can sit with Dhruv at the last second bench of the 3rd row.” Ruvit walked towards Dhruv, following the teacher’s instruction.

“Dhruv was handsome enough to make girls fall for him and now Ruvit!” … “He is definitely the hottest here.” … “Blessed with his face card!”

I heard some girls speaking, making me cringe at them.

My eyes went upon Nandini beside me who was all red and I might know the reason very well.

“Gurl, don’t blush too hard.” I teased, the words carrying out in a whisper.

“It’s all because of your jiju (brother-in-law). Tell him to not flirt with me in between the classes.”

I smiled while looking back at Dhruv who was holding Ruvit by his arm around the latter’s shoulder.

It’s been a month since Nandini and Dhruv started dating.

At first I thought it was just for fun according to Dhruv’s personality but not gonna lie, he is treating her really well.

As long as she is happy, I don’t have any problem. And I will support them.

“Babe, listen to me at least.” I heard Dhruv’s confronting tone.

“It’s painful, Dhruv.” Nandini argued while clutching her tummy.

Brother-in-law needs to understand that Nandini can be anything but normal on her periods.

When both were busy in their own world, my eyes went up to the person sitting alone on a bench.

The same person I feel a connection with, don’t know wae.

I don’t know if this sounds weird but I wanna talk to him about this morning.

I just don’t know how I should start a conversation with him. I will make fun of myself and it would be embarrassing.

“Hey saali-sa (sister-in-law).”

I looked behind to see Dhruv and Nandini holding hands. Interesting, he knows how to comfort her.

I hummed at him when he gestured at me to walk towards his direction.

I followed his lead but soon, I realised that we were walking towards none other than Ruvit.

Ruvit was already looking in our direction. Or I should say specifically in mine.

His gaze felt intense. I could feel my cheeks getting heated up.

“Ruvit, meet my girlfriend, Nandini.” Dhruv introduced Nandini to Ruvit. She bid him a hello and he simply noded.

“And she is my mischievous sister-in-law who is no less than my own sister, Aridhi.” Dhruv pointed at me.

Should I say hello? Oh God! Dhruv made this moment awkward.

“Hii,” He initiated, “Aridhi.”

I froze, getting surprised for a moment but soon maintained my composure.

Because his voice is really angelic. Like so fine. Like so smooth. Like so hot.

My name sounded so noixe on his tongue.

I can’t believe he is the same person I met in the morning. Because that situation? It was so out of the blue.

But this situation? It was deliberate.

I didn’t exactly notice his boyish charm in the morning, and now I could admire it all I want.

“A-Aridhi?” I came out from my delulu world when I heard Nandini calling out my name. Oh, yeah.

“Hello, Ruvit.” I smiled, didn’t know what to say anything else.

“Already in love?” Dhruv whispered to me while smirking, his gaze swept over me with a teasing grace.

What love? It’s nothing like that. It could never. I will never fall in love, at least not until I accomplished my dream.

“Never ever.” I declined firmly.
