Darkness shrouded the Cliffside as a covenant phantom flew past with its floodlights on full blare. Meanwhile Izuku stared into the sky wondering if he'd ever see his mother, inko, again that was until jun spoke and snapped him out of his near trance state "here you may need these." Jun then handed Izuku an SRS99-AM magazine "high velocity armour piercing rounds. They'll take the hat off an elite at two thousand yards, And they ain't cheep." Jun then began to climb over a bolder "I'll be in touch." Izuku then slid down the cliff to his right to a Plato nearly 50 metres below him.
As Izuku landed he raised his weapon, an SRS99-AM sniper rifle, a weapon Izuku didn't particularly like using however it was perfect for his current mission. Kat then gave an update to jun and himself about a darkzone up ahead. Izuku just pushed onwards as a phantom flew overhead again not, that the pilot noticed izuku. On the path ahead was a singular elite facing away from izuku so izuku went up behind the elite, triped the elite into falling baclkwards before stabbing it through the mouth and into the brain without a single sound.
Izuku looked to his right and saw a sleeping grunt so he snapped it's neck before moving on. Izuku then moved to the final grunt and killed it before proceeding up the path towards the next area where they find a covenant controled complex. Jun called this in to Kat "recon bravo to noble 2, stand by for contact report" kat response was "stading by to copy over" jun continued with "we have eyes on multiple hostiles patrolling a settlement, this what we're looking for, Kat?" Izuku saw a grunt that was isolated from any other covenant so he jumped down silently with the cloaking device he took from the elite he killed earlier and killed the grunt.
After a few seconds Kat responded "negative, too small, your not in the dark zone yet. Engage at your own discretion, but keep moving" jun silently sighed as he saw izuku pull out his M6G magnum and start picking off the grunts one by one. "Already engaged". Once all the grunts were dealt with Izuku used the cloaking device to move behind the remaining elites and jackles before killing one with his knife with it beging a gold ranger or bobs as the marines sometimes call them. After a few minutes the last of the covenant are dealt with until a phantom comes in with more "incoming, looks like we really pissed them off" izuku looked at Jun before pulling out a plasma grenade "wanna stick em?" Jun nodded and Izuku simply threw the plasma grenade right where the covenant would get off before the phantom opened up and the covenant jumped out right as the grenade exploded killing them all.
Izuku and jun swiftly move on before more enemy reinforcements arrive and encounter more covenant forces but swiftly eliminate them as well. Jun and Izuku heard fighting up ahead and saw teo big creatures fighting the covenant while a dropship had their search lights on them. Izuku spoke out "jun those are gútas... indigenous to reach... lets let them kill the covenant and then drop em if necessary." Jun nodded and izuku saw a huge dead moa next to him so he grabed hold of it as the last of the covenant got killed and the gútas noticed Izuku and jun however Izuku tossed them the moa while lowering jun's weapon. The gútas just took the moa and left leading to no wasted ammo. "Seems the covenant disrupted their hunt..." jun nodded "six, there's a trail up ahead though the rocks. Lets take it" izuku moved up the path with jun behind him.
The two of them then heard gunfire from up ahead with jun recognising it "gunfire. Magnums. Security sidearms, standard issue" izuku moved up "looks like we've got local milita fighting the covenant... didn't want to leave it up to someone else probably..." jun nods before going on comms "noble 2 we've at some sort of pump station, I've got eyes on civilians, six is thinking local militia. They've engaged hostiles." Izuku jumped down onto two elites that werr trying to flank the milita and killed them without Jun noticing before charging into the thick of battle and providing cover for the milita. Kat responded to jun "give them a hand, they may have intel we need" jun turned while speaking "you hear-" jun deadpaned at Izuku already fighting and forgot to turn off his comms "and he's already in the thick of the fight..." kat just giggled at this as jun began providing support for izuku and the milita with his sniper rifle.
Izuku had already taken out half the attacking covenant by the time jun started fighting and soon enough the last grunt fell at Izuku's feet and none of the milita died. Izuku and jun regrouped with the milita by some briefcases. The milita trooper started to explain their situation. "Little more action then we're used to. You spartans are good in a fight." Before jun can question them Izuku gave his view on the millta troopers reason for being there "didn't want to leave the fight for your homes to someone else and had something stashed here?" The trooper nodded before opening the briefcases revelling UNSC weapons "that's right have these stashed all over the territory." Jun saw the weapons "you know this stuff is stolen?" The trooper retorted with "what? You gonna arrest me?" Izuku smirked under his helmet "no... were gonna steal it back" the trooper chuckled at this recognising that jun and izuku didn't care for legalities.
Another phantom dropship appeared however izuku grabed the rocket launcher and blew it out the sky before the troops could get off and the handed the rocket launcher to a milita trooper. "Fire at any phantoms that appear." The trooper nodded as izuku put down his magnum and picked up a DMR from the stolen gear. 3 more phantoms appeared and the trooper was able to take 2 of them down before they could deploy troops while the 3rd was able to, however they were quickly gunned down by the milita troopers and spartans. After all the covenant were rightfully massicared the troopers and spartans regrouped once more.
Jun looks around "nothing here but that lake..." one of the troopers speaks out "road leads to the hydro-electric plant but the gate doesn't work" jun looked over to the trooper while izuku grabed more ammo from the stolen gear "alternate route?" The trooper nodded "we use the riverbed to smuggle rations, weapons..." Izuku looked over at the riverbed before jun responded "basically anything the UNSC considers contraband." The trooper again nodded "basically" at this Izuku turned around "show us"
The 4 milita troopers and 2 spartans proceded to move down the riverbed before jun asked a question "where does this riverbed lead?" The trooper glanced back at the two spartans "straight to the hydro plant. We dammed this river up 42 years ago. Plant powers every settlement in this territory. Shame if it all gets wasted" jun curtly responeded with "doing what we can"
A phantom passed over head "hold up, covie dropship, take cover" the group held position under a rock arch as the phantom passed. "Ok. Clear lets move." The group pushed onwards and reached the hydro plant and once they had reached it they saw a sizeable covenant force and a spire like structure. Jun got on comms "kat are you seeing this? Covenant structure, kind of a big pylon. Heavily fortified." Kat responded "thats the source of our dark zone." Jun coldly replied "ok... consider it gone" kat cut him off "negative, stick a remote det charge on it. Command is planning somethinh big and that pylon ties it down." One of the milita troopers asks "we gonna blow it?" Izuku responds before jun can "kill the covenant, plant a remote det charge you wanna help? Give us cover." The troopers nodded
The group move towards the bridge with Izuku in front with his active camo active and they killed all the sleeping grunts quietly until an elite saw one of the troopers and alerted the rest. In the next 5 minutes the troopers witnessed Izuku slaughtering the covenant without mercy as they covered jun while he planted the remote det charge. Jun saw a phantom flying in "we've got big targets, covie dropship imbound." Izuku looked and saw 2 hunters so he jumped on the back of one and shoved a plasma grenade in it's back before doing the same to the other one.
Jun plants the det charge in the power suply of the pylon and the team pushes on with the troopers joining them. "Looks like you've got a fireteam of your own six" izuku just nodded at juns off handed comment then looked at the troopers who all said they would join the UNSC after this at which izuku smiles slightly under his helmet. The group pushed on and soon found a covenant staging ground and got the info to Kat. After that they pulled out and returned to base with 4 new recruits for the UNSC.
A/N sorry for the delay but i had Christmas with family, new years and also collage assignments to deal with which ended up not needing to be done as we needed to do shit in collage to complete said assignment. Till next time
