Izuku's reach logs 6: AI got delivered successfully... carter is MIA now... damn I hate when i have to use that term for a spartan I know is dead... may he rest...

Izuku and Emile, now having a goal besides having a last stand against the covenant, backtracked through the Aszód ship breaking yards to the way they came while grabbing what ammo and weapons they could from fallen marines.

Emile: "Izuku catch" Emile tossed him a M45 shotgun "should make fights quicker"

Izuku: "good thought... can't let them pin us down, we need to move"

The two found the original route they took blocked off from damage and so took an alternative route to get out. On this route they encountered a pair of grunts who were arguing over who gets a helmet, upon closer inspection the helmet was carter's burned but still recognisable. When Emile and Izuku saw this they executed the two grunts with extreme brutality and reclaimed carter's helmet.

Emile: "well looks like we can give the commander a burial after all."

Izuku just nodded and attached the helmet to his waist.

Izuku: "not here... no time."

To this Emile patted Izuku's shoulder and nodded and the two moved on, pretty soon they had returned to the mongoose they had abandoned before still operational so they go on it and began to drive. After a 4 hour drive they had arrived at a cave and their comms flared to life again.

Halsey (com): "I see you've both arrived"

Izuku: "we have halsey. What's the situation"

Halsey (com): "the ship is fueling however we've detected covenant partrols getting closer to the launch site and we need all hands ready to defend. Noble 2 and 3 are already in position and waiting. Head through the cave and join the defenders"

Izuku and Emile rushed through the cave single file and made it to the otherside quickly to see a valiant class super heavy crusier.

Izuku: "well looks like that's our ride out"

Emile: "yeah and looks like there's got a overhead hatch to prevent it from being seen from orbit"

Izuku nodded and saw Kat and Jun and ran to them

Izuku: "Kat, Jun it's good to see you again."

Kat: "Izuku, Emile... where's carter?"

Izuku took Carter's helmet off his waist and showed it to Kat and Jun

Izuku: "he didn't make it"

The remaining members of noble team all lowered their heads before Izuku put the helmet back onto his waist as a call came out that the first covenant scouts are approaching and noble team began to man the defences.

6 long hours. That's how long it took for all final launch procedures to be completed, the ship was fueled, supplies loaded and engines primed. During those 6 hours they were attacked 40 different times, All scouts, none of them reported their findings back as their communications were jammed and they were killed before they could escape.

Halsey (loudspeakers): "all combat personnel, board the spirit of dawn for lift off."

With that said pelicans began loading all combat personnel and vehicles used in the defence of the ship and once that was done the overhead hatch that covered the spirit of dawn opened and the dawn began to rise with it's point defence weapons on full alert as it did so.

Halsey (coms): "noble team, once your pelican is on board the dawn please make your way to the bridge, I'd like to talk in person with you all"

Izuku: "understood halsey"

The last pelicans landed in the hanger as the dawn began to pick up speed and leave the planet without any of the covenant ships being able to react since the only ones left were small corvettes which were easily outpaced by the dawn. After an hour noble team arrived at the bridge without their mjolnir armor.

Halsey: "ah noble team, it's good to see you four... i should note that Kat is now the commander of noble team and your callsigns will be updated if you would like"

Izuku looked at Kat and nodded at her.

Kat: "we should probably change callsigns to match our new positions in the team"

With that Kat became noble 1, Jun is noble 2, Emile is noble 3, and izuku became noble 4.

Halsey: "alright now that that's settled I should explain what this ship is... the spirit of dawn is a valiant class super heavy crusier with forerunner engines like the new infinity class super carrier. However this ship includes a forerunner slipspace drive. And yes Izuku, we have a sabre in the hanger."

Izuku put his thumb up as the bridge crew began preparing for a slipspace jump back to earth. As the blue portal opened Izuku could only stare at it remembering jorge.

Halsey: "Izuku. Jorge had chosen where he'd fall... and that was over reach"

Izuku simply nodded as the spirit of dawn entered the slipspace portal however a sudden shout from one of the bridge crew caught everyone's attention.

Bridge crew 1: "slipspace anomaly detected! Jump accuracy down 25%"

More and more shouts of confirmation of the anomaly rose up from the bridge crew however it was too late to stop the jump from occuring and everyone braced for impact.

The spirit of dawn shuddered as it fully entered slipspace and everything began to glow blinding everyone and as the glow faded everyone one was disoriented however they all slowly noticed they were back in real space and near Saturn's moon titan.

Bridge crew 2: "what?! How are we already at the sol system... forerunnrr slipspace is fast but not that fast!"

Izuku 'with his quick thinking': "someone scan the system and bring up an image of earth!"

The bridge crew got to work as soon as their eyes readjusted from the glow and an image of earth was brought up on the main console and everyone was shocked at what they saw. Earth was different, no metropolises, no space elevator, no defence fleets and no orbital defence clusters.

Halsey: "someone get access to the internet for earth!"

There was a mad scramble from the bridge crew and they had soon accessed the internet and what they saw shocked them to their cores.
