Charlie nelson:

I'm currently making dinner, stirring the soup round the pot slowly. Nicks not home currently, neither is River, Nick had to go to the studio and decided to take River with him, they'll be home shortly.

"Pap!" I hear Avery shriek. "Yeah aves?" I say confused, "c-can you come here a minute ?!" She asks desperately. "Uh yeah, course hold on" I put the lid over the pan and walk upstairs to where her voice is leading me. "B-but don't open the door !" It's coming from the bathroom, I stand outside. "Okay, what's wrong darling ?" I ask worriedly. "Uhm..I-i think I need to talk to nana or auntie tori, m-maybe Darcy or Tara ?!" She says panicked, "why, what's going on Avery ?" I ask, "I just need to!" I think I may have realised what she's talking about, "okay hun. Do you need anything while you wait ?" I ask, it's quiet for a minute. "No" she shuffles her feet. "okay, hold on" I run downstairs and pick up my phone, dialling Sarah's number.

"Hello ?" I hear her say through the phone. "Hey Sarah, it's Charlie" I say impatiently. "Ah ! My favourite, what's wrong dear ?" She asks, "Uhm I think Avery may have started her period, b-but obviously she wants to talk to you about it" I panic. Everything's silent until I hear her laugh a bit, "mum it's not funny !" I say desperate. "Okay" she says pulling herself together, "pass me over to Avery" I nod to myself and walk upstairs, "Avery love, it's nana on the phone" she opens the door a tiny bit, enough to squeeze the phone through. She immediately shuts the door afterwards and I hear instant muffles, I walk downstairs though as I don't want to ease drop.

"We're home !" Nick says chipperly. I walk into the hallway to see River sat on the step and Nick helping him remove his coat and shoes. "Hey buddy" I smile, River looks at me and leaps up in excitement, causing Nick to jump a little, "papa !" He screams, "woah ! Lower your voice hun !" I say, he hugs my legs and then runs into the playroom. "Hey char" Nick says kissing my head, he looks down and raises his eyebrow. "You've got that worried face on, what's happend ?" He asked crossing his arms. "Well-I-I think Avery's started her period" I blurt out. "Ohhhh" he says quietly. "Is that why's she's been such a pain in the ass" he laughs, "Nick this is not time for jokes !" I say angrily. "I've given her my phone, she's on the phone to Sarah". "Okay, I'll go check on her" he smiles walking up the stairs. "KNOCK !" I shout. He continues walking. I go back into the kitchen and stir the soup again, I turn the hob off and lean against the counter.

Nick comes downstairs and few minutes later, "yep, she's started her period" I gasp and put my hand over my mouth, my eyes filling up with tears. "Oh baby, what's wrong ?" Nick asks, face full of concern". "M-my baby's getting s-so old !" I sob, he walks up too me and engulfs me in a hug. "Oh Charlie, it's okay" I cry into his shoulder. "Mums on her way here from Tesco, she's got a few things to help Avery out" he smiles, pulling away from the hug and wiping my tears. "Yeah, okay" I sniffle. "We're lucky to have her" I whisper, "yeah, I don't know what we'd do without her" Nick smiles.

Nick Nelson:

Sarah arrives around 20 minutes later. "Right, where's my beautiful girl ?" She smiles, "upstairs in the bathroom" I say, she pats me on the shoulder. "Don't worry love, she'll be okay" Sarah walked upstairs and I heard her talking to Avery. I walked into the kitchen to where Charlie was dishing up dinner. "Smells gorgeous darling" I said sitting in front of the breakfast bar. "Mmm thank you love" he smiled happily, "it's one of my old safe food recipes". "Ahhh I see, you feeling okay today ?" I ask, "yeah, I'm fine" he says quickly.

Sarah walks down the stairs with Avery behind her. She walks in front of Sarah and looks at us two. "Hey sweet, are you okay ?" Charlie says concerned. "Yeah Uhm, I've started my period. I don't know why I didn't tell you both first but I just wanted to talk to a girl just to see if u actually had. Nana Sarah's got me everything I need and once again I'm really sorry" she sighed, I walked up too her and hugged her. "It's okay darling, it happens, it's not your fault" I said, wrapping my rugby arms tight around her. "Thank you" she whispered. "Aves are you in the mood to eat anything ? I've made chicken noodle soup ?" Charlie asked, she thought for a minute. "Not right now, my stomachs hurting" she frowned. "Ah okay, do you want a paracetamol?" He said, "yes please". "Okay darling, come on" they walked back into the kitchen and Sarah started grabbing her bags. "I knew I'd get this panicked call from you boys sooner or later" she smiled, "good job for calling me" she said hugging me, "no, thank you" I whispered.

"She's got everything she needs, doesn't she ?" I asked her, "yes darling, she's got everything's she needs" Sarah smiles. "Okay, thank you ma, you've really helped today" I said, "my pleasure, love you all lots" she walks down the path and I close the door, I feel tiny arms wrapped around me and I look down. "River what are you doing with pen all over you ?" I said crossing my arms. "Dwaring!" He said happily. "Thats very lovely, but where did you draw ?" I said. He went quiet. "River Luke Francis Nelson, where did you draw ?" I asked sturnly. "Wall...." He mumbled.
