70. Argument

Charlie Nelson:

"WHY THE ACTUAL FUCK WOULD YOU DO THAT ?" I screamed at Nick, my tear stains imprinted on my now rosy cheeks, "ITS ONE FUCKING SHOW CHARLIE ?? ITS ON A WEEKEND, THERES NO HARM !" He shouts back, "I DONT KNOW WHY UR MAKING SUCH A BIG DEAL ABOUT THIS" he walks towards me and I flinch, instantly going into a crouch on the floor.

I put my head to my knees, Nick takes a few deep breathes. "C-Charlie, I'm not going to..h-hurt you ?" He whispered. "Just leave me alone" I said getting up, "wait, no Charlie wait !" He said grabbing my shoulder. "No nick go away" I said trying to walk to our bedroom. "Charlie why are you so upset-". "BECAUSE IM FUCKING PREGNANT !" I said, turning around and throwing my hands up in the air sarcastically. "I'm pregnant" I said quieter this time.

Nicks face stays the same,numb almost. I storm upstairs and slam the door, sliding down it and breaking down. Avery's at Matilda's for the night and rivers at Sarah's. I was going to tell Nick about the baby tonight, but that's when he told me he had agreed to go to a concert thats a plane ride and 12 hours away. The concert is on my due date. I sobbed into my knees as quiet as possible but you could hear my cries from miles away.

I walked over to the window in our bedroom to overlook the beautiful grassy field that was visible from our front garden. My crying had stopped, my tears were all dried out and all I wanted was Nick. I just wanted him to hold me, stroke my head telling me it's going to be alright, but it wasn't. He was famous now, how would we make this work ?

I laid in bed, I started crying again. This time it was on the pillow, wow these pregnancy hormones are strong. Why did I have to shout at him ? I asked myself, why do I always let my anger get the best of me. I heard a knock on the door. "Go away" I sniffled. "Char ? It's me, Elle" my head shot up, Elle ? "C-come in" I said trying to adjust myself. She opened the door and took one look at me. "Oh honey" she said, I started crying again. The shut the door behind her and rushed over to my bedside, she threw her bag on the floor and sat beside me. Elle threw her arms around me and I painfully cried in her shoulder.

"Oh Charlie" she said rubbing my back. "Shhh your okay". "I-I feel so bad" I cried. "I know, I know" she whispered. She sat me up and cupped my face with one hand, wiping my tears away. "What's going on ?" She asked softly. "Nicks next concert" I sniffled, wiping my nose with my sleeve. She looked confused. "What about it, can't you make it ?" She asked. "no" I laughed at the fact of how small she thought this was, maybe that's why people thought I was so weak. "I'm pregnant" I said, she gasped. "I'm pregnant and the due date is the date of his concert, August 18th". "I'm happy for you, Charlie" she smiled. "yeah, I couldn't say the same, but thank you".

Nick Nelson:

"And you didn't know ?" Tao asked, eating sucking on an ice cream that we've had in the freezer since last summer. "N-no I swear, he's only just told me" I sighed and put my head in my hands. "If only he'd just told me when he found out". "And when did he find out ?" Tao asked. "Tao I don't know !!" I snapped, I looked at Tao who had his eyebrow raised to me, he pointed at me. "That, that right there, did you see that ?" He said. "See what" I frowned at him. "That, all that anger that just suddenly built up inside you, stress maybe" he added. I suddenly realised. That's what I had been doing these past couple months, taking out every single piece of rage I had on Charlie. "God" I sat back down in my seat. "Whats wrong with me ?" I asked, "your stressed dude, this band shit is too much" he said, "but-but I love it" I whispered. "But do you love your family ?" He snapped.

I understood where he was coming from. "Course I do" I said with tears in my eyes. "Then fucking do someting about it" he said, "I'm going to check on Charlie, make the right choice. This band thingy, or your husband and child on the way" Tao said annoyed, he stood up and started walking up the stairs. "Nice fucking house" he mumbled on his way up. I sighed, I knew what I had to do.

"Nick" Elle said on her way out, "yeah ?" I asked. "Take care of yourself will you, and Charlie ?" She said. I smiled slightly. "Yeah, course" Elle nodded and walked off. "Bye mate" Tao patted me on the shoulder, not looking back at me before walking out and down the driveway to catch up with Elle . "Bye Tao" I said to myself .I shut the door and started walking upstairs to mine and Charlie's bedroom. I knocked on the door and there was slight silence. "Come in" I heard a small voice say. I walked in and Charlie was propped up in bed, his eyes a puffy red. "Charlie" I whispered.

walking over to my side of the bed. I sat down to face him and grabbed his hand, placing it on my knee. "I'm so, so sorry" I said. "I had no idea you were pregnant and it's my fault. I've been so wrapped up in work that you had no time to tell me. I didn't ask you about the concert either which was really, really fucking selfish and shitty of me, I'm so sorry Charlie." I said, he sniffled and looked at me. I took a deep breath. "I've stepped back from the band". His eyes opened wide, "w-what" he whispered, his lips quivering. "Because you and..this little pumpkin" I said rubbing Charlie's stomach. "You and our kids mean so much more to me then that" I smiled.

"What did they say ? Where are you gonna work ? How are we gonna get money ?" He freaked out. "Hey hey calm down, first off, I told them I need to take myself out the band. They were upset and annoyed that I apparently waited this late. But I do understand and so do they. I've been offered a place back at truham to work as a rugby coach." I said, "thank you" Charlie mumbled. "It's no problem sweetheart, it's what should've been done in the first place".
