Nick Nelson:

Charlie got admitted to hospital. He was in a horrible condition. When he fell he slammed his head on the side of the bath tub and cracked some open, he screamed and then fell unconscious. Charlie also suffered other injuries too, he broke his leg, he also suffered memory loss for a short amount of time but he re-gained it all sooner or later.

He's been kept in hospital for them too keep a "close eye". So I've been left with the kids. Charlie also lost the baby, we were so distraught and by the time I told him his exact words were, "what baby" in a panicked expression. Telling the kids was awful. River struggled to understand so I just told him that daddy is in hospital and the baby went back to baby heaven. But telling Avery was devastating.

She broke, she sobbed into my arms for hours, I think the pressure of her dad also being held in hospital and not knowing when she'll get him back is making it worse. She ended up going to Matilda's as Matilda's mum was currently on a "work trip" or something like that, if so, why wouldn't she bring her daughter ? But it's none of our business.

"Daddy" I heard river say, "yeah, pumpkin ?". "When's papa going to come back ?" He asked, I sighed, picking him up and scuffling his hair. "Soon I hope sweetheart, soon." I then heard the door slam open. "NICK" I heard Matilda yell. I sat river down on the couch with his tablet in his hands and ran to the door.

"Matilda ?" I asked, running through the hallway. I looked at the door and was shocked, Avery was in Matilda's arms, she was carrying her bridal style. "what's happend !" I asked panicked, "found her drunk, the field near mine". I gasped, "what the fuck !" I exclaimed. "Daddddddddd" Avery moaned, "Avery, sweetheart, can you explain to me what in the actual fuck has happend !" I said, trying not to raise my voice too loud but trying to prove I'm angry enough.

"I was just thirsty" she said, "found some alcohol in the cupboards and drank it". She giggled, then stretched her arms so they reached my shoulders. "Mmmmmm bed" she said sleepily. I sighed and took her from Matilda's arms, "thank you tills" I said upset. "No worries, Nick" she smiled, "let me know when's she's up". I nodded and then shut the door, carrying Avery upstairs and placing her into her bed, " 'm sorry dad" she whispered. "We'll talk about this later, I love you" I said, kissing her head. I put a bin beside her bed incase worst came to worse and walked downstairs.

"Mum" I said through the phone, "hey darling, what's up ?". "Matilda's just brought Avery home drunk, no idea what has happend, she's too wasted to explain so she's upstairs sleeping and river keeps going on about Charlie and honestly I just want to see my husband". I said, my voice cracking. "Oh darling" she tutted, "I'll come round to watch them and you go to the hospital, okay ?".

Driving to the hospital was nerve-wrecking knowing that my husband was there. Seeing the state he was in always made me feel sick to my core. I pulled into the parking lot and took the keys out my car, getting out and locking the door behind me.

"Hello" I said to the receptionist. "Ah hello, how may I help you today ?" She asked, "I'm here to see my husband, Charles Nelson ?" I said anxiously, she smiles and hands me a note, "room 404, visiting time is up in 2 hours". She said softly, I nodded and walked upstairs to Charlie's room.

I knocked on his door, "come in" he croaked. "Hey sweetheart" I whispered. He carefully looked over and then smiled, "Nick" he sighed with relief. "Hey, love". I couldn't help but smile at the fact he now could remember who I am. "How are you feeling ?" I asked.

"Honestly ? I'm not doing good, doctors said they're really concerned or whatever". He said quieter, I felt myself tearing up, I knew I had to talk about how I was feeling. "Charlie", "yeah ?" He asked confused. "I don't want you too go, I honestly can't do this on my own. You mean so much too me and I don't know who I am without you". At that point I was balling with tears.

"Oh nick" he sighed, he put his arm around me and brought me in a hug. I delicately laid on his chest, listening to his heart beat and calming down. "Baby, sit up so I can talk to you". I looked at him and he smiled. "Nick, there's a big chance i-" he had to stop himself so he could take a breathe. "There's a big chance i will die" he said.

"But you do know that'll never stop me loving you, right ?". I nodded, trying to contain my tears. I then looked at him and realised he was crying too. "I promise you, I will never stop loving you". He whispered, glossy tears hanging from his eyes. "Mhm" my voice quivered and cracked. "Nicholas Luke Nelson" he smiled, "Charles Frances Spring" I said, and we laughed, we laughed and we laughed until I got told I had to go home. But now, I wish I didn't........

I've just made myself cry with this chapter 😭😭
