[Zelos's pov]

A few minutes later, we stopped arguing. It was always like this with Lucia, we're brother and sister after all and we fight. We didn't hate each other more than we loved each other, we always made up.

"nice air control earlier." I complimented Lucia, implying the move she made to reach the playground structure from the swings without touching the muddy sand.

I was leaning against the edge of the walls of the play structure. The walls were half my height, too short for me. my sleeves were rolled up at this point, so my elbows and the back of my jacket were a bit wet but I didn't really care.

"thanks." Lucia smiled. "well, let's not just stand there. we came here in the middle of a thunderstorm for a reason." she started moving and leaned against the structure right beside me. "show me the lightning you were talking about." her eyes sparkled in interest.

Just recently, I made a fucking ground breaking discovery about myself; I was a lightning user. a few of the advanced and skilled who wield fire and master it are able to find the line in between energy, and can shoot lightning from their fingertips.

It made me feel prideful, and I didn't feel like I was weak or just ordinary anymore. There was something interesting about me for once, I'm capable of making a difference.

Maybe it didn't matter how hard I worked, how good I was at element wielding, but when I started being able to use lightning it was like a slap in the face bringing me back to reality, telling me I'm not powerless.

"you wanna see the lightning huh?" I grinned. For now, I could only wield lightning during a thunderstorm because of the energy in the air. I adjusted my sleeves and pulled them up more, then put my eyes on the cloudy sky above. there was thunder far away and when it shook the sky, I felt the same booming energy surge through my veins. I lingered on this familiarity and opened my palms against each other.

Flashes of lightning spiked out of my fingertips and bounced off my skin as Lucia stared in wonder. I clasped my hands shut silencing the flashes, then I turned to face the sky. Lucia leaned over the play structure with me to look at the sky as I took a deep breath and supplied my blood with oxygen, I pointed my hand at the clouds above us.

When I exhaled, lightning bolts ripped through the skin of my hand and raced towards the sky. The bolts ran and ran as high as they could, and struck the heavens creating a deafening sound of crackling.

"woooAAAAHHH HOLY SHIT" Lucia exclaimed, "are you sure you're a beginner?!" she grabbed me, shaking me in excitement. "hu–what do you mean??" I asked. "when you start to be able to use lightning you're not supposed to be powerful enough to create a strike that long!! you just struck the sky...that was a mastery level move?!?!" she clarified.

"really? huh!..." I raised my eyebrows, Lucia started to ramble about how cool this was and I laughed along with her.

[Siony's pov]

I couldn't shake the feeling of what I saw two nights ago. Now I knew Claudius's business with Zelos was just plainly picking on him. Very physically. I couldn't get much sleep last night and I was distracted during my work outs and violin practice.

I grabbed my keys and stuff rushing out the front door of my house, and a gentle Sunday afternoon breeze hit me. I brushed my hair away from my eyes and entered my car, driving off.

As I'm on the road, I ignored the road signs and went a bit over the speed limit. I wasn't thinking rationally enough to care, I kept thinking about if he was okay...why? Why do I care so much? I don't, I shouldn't, but curiosity kills the cat and I'm the feline.
