chan's pov
i was the first one to arrive at jeongin's dorm. he opened his door with a full smile. "you look so happy, aren't you nervous?" i ask, looking through his closet. "of course i'm nervous, but it feels kinda nice?" he replies.
"you know more than anyone how long i've liked him. this is my chance to show him how serious i am"
there was something beautifully simplistic about what he said. my whole time at this school i've avoided relationships, not seeing anyone that was worth risking heart break for. it didn't help that all of my friends were in perfect monogamous relationships.
before i could go deeper into my thoughts, lee know and hyunjin arrived. they walked in cheering, making jeongin roll his eyes. "what do you guys have planned?" hyunjin asked.
"i signed us up to sing at a small karaoke bar. he mentioned wanting to try that before so" jeongin grinned. i stare at changbin's contact on my phone. if jeongin could try at love, the least i could do was text a cute guy.
chan : hey :)
changbin : hi !!
chan : any estimate on how long until he leaves out?
changbin : well tbh he's not sure what to wear..
changbin : can we get a hint on where they're going ? pretty please ? ^^
chan : just tell him to wear something nice— trust me
i threw my phone onto jeongin's bed, smiling like an idiot. i didn't do as bad as i thought i would. i quickly gained the attention of my friends. jeongin grabbed my phone and unlocked it to see what the fuss was about.
"hey! don't reveal anything else!" he frowned.
"it was an accident-- i swear!" i jump up. hyunjin grabs the phone to read the messages and then passes it to lee know to analyze as well. "pretty please? oh he definitely knows you're already whipped" lee know smirks.
once jeongin leaves we part ways. in the mean time i decide to work on some lyrics and a melody for a new song i just thought up. professor min hasn't assigned anything major yet, but i feel a strange sense of inspiration all of a sudden. when i stop to check my phone there's a text from changbin.
changbin : just heard from seungminnie ! the date went well :D
changbin : i wanted to thank you !! without your tip seungmin would've assumed they were just going for pizza and wore a pair of sweatpants or something 😭
chan : jeongin almost killed me when he found out i gave you guys a hint.. but i'm glad i could help
changbin : well then thank u again for risking your life for me lol
i smile at the message before turning my phone off. i start scribbling down more song ideas. just couple days around him and i'm starting to see the appeal liking someone has. maybe opening up to others isn't so bad.
