~Y/N's Pov~

She sits in front of me on the counter, looking into my eyes softly with furrowed eyebrows. Cotton ball between my finger, I slightly dab it against the bruise on her lip. My mind focused on cleaning up her wounds, but I couldn't concentrate all too well with her eyes burning through my soul. Clearing my throat, I reach behind her and take out a clean cotton ball with more alcohol on top. I reach up and lightly pat the tiny scratches on her cheek, you can barely see it. I only noticed the scratches now, up close to Natasha. It makes sense how there's tiny cuts there, it's because Roxanne wears rings. It must've sliced Nat.

She winced under the touch of the alcohol, quickly jerking her head to the side. I frowned, not sure why it hurt her so badly. In the old days, I fixed her up whenever she fell, bumped herself, got surgeries, etc. She was a real hardcore young-adult, sometimes getting in trouble by the professors in university for not paying attention. That's why I fell in love with her, she was different and so cool and mysterious.
She never flinched or groaned when I nurtured her wounds with alcohol. It's the first time in decades that I've cleaned her wounds. I get to feel her soft, smooth skin again. The reaction she gave me is just a bit confusing. Maybe I pressed to hard against the open skin, but it's so tiny cuts. It's like cat scratches, but smaller.

She sighed and looked back at me as I was busy cleaning up her cheek.

"You know I can do this myself, right?" She said quietly.

As I pull back to grab another cotton ball, I quickly send her a glare. "I know." I respond.

She nods slowly, letting me continue nursing her. Though, she looked as if something was bothering her.

I ask softly, "What's wrong?"

She releases a long sigh. "I'm an assassin. I needed to do what I needed to do- to kill her parents. But, I feel kind of... guilty?"

Keeping quiet, I place a band-aid on the bigger scratch. Truly, I don't know what to say to make her feel better. It's wrong what she did, and she knows it. At this point, anything will help to say to make this situation less awkward.

"Nat, you can't do anything about that right now. But, you can prevent it from happening to other people." I step back to get a better look at her. "You're not as evil as you think you are."

"No, I'm much worse"

I take a deep breath in and throw the box of band aids down.

"Then, I'll help you." I reply softly, "Natasha, please... join us. Join the agency."

She frowns, "Are you serious? I can't." She shakes her head and adds, "They won't take in someone with a bad record."

"Your record's clean though!" I smile softly, taking her hands in mine. "The reason we're being hunted is because I wanted you to have your freedom... well... technically you'll get your freedom after our bounties are off, but still! Vladimir's in jail because I want to help you... you're free from all this madness."

Her jaw clenched as she looks down, having nothing to say back. Smiling softly to myself, I quickly stand on my toes, leaning forward, and give her a kiss on the other non-bruised side of her cheek. She looks back up to me.

"Just think about it." I smile. I let go of her hands. "I'm going to check up on everyone."

Blankly, she stares at me as I walk away. Outside on the balcony, through the main room, sat Andrew. Before I spoke to him, I saw the view of the lake. I was mesmerizing it before my eyes land on a figure standing out towards the dock. With Roxanne's back turned towards us, I could still see rocks flying out of her hands and into the water. Collecting my bearings, I sat on the other wooden chair, the opposite side of him. Finally, Andrew looked up at me and gave me a small, awkward smile and went straight back to work on his laptop. We're all still a bit silent because of what happened earlier. It was unexpected and hearing it for myself makes me a bit disappointed what Natasha did to Roxanne.
I peek over towards Andrew to check what he's doing, still stuck at getting the bounties down before there pops up a loading title.
