~Y/N's pov~

"Chase, can you please tell your shitty ass friends in the hallway to stop fucking making ou-"

My heart stopped.

The room filled with silence. My heart was pounding in my chest like a drum as I saw her, Natasha. Her eyes immediately met mine, I watch as her emotion drain. It was like everything else around me disappeared, and all I could hear was the deafening sound of my own heartbeat. I could feel the blood rushing through my veins, and it was all I could focus on. It was like the rest of the world simply wasn't there anymore. We just kept staring at each other awkwardly, not moving a muscle until someone clears there throat. I blink heavily, shifting on the couch as I finally look away.

I know she'd be invited, but I didn't expect her to come. All of us are linked together, if that's being friends, siblings, cousins, lovers... so of course Natasha is invited, we all were one big group in university, even though she was some years older than us, she still hung out with us newbies. Chase, Margot... all our friends thought we were the best couple ever and they were disappointed when we broke up. They don't know the whole story, the real reason I broke up with her and I don't expect Natasha to tell them because of her ego.

My eyes scan everywhere across the room, expect at Natasha, trying my best to ignore her. My eyes lands on Nancy and she sends me a guilty look. She mouths "I'm sorry."

Sam frowned, looking around confused. "Right, what's going on?" He joked, "The party just died all the sudden!"

I watch as Natasha shift where she stands, nobody knowing what to say. Sam looks back and forth between Natasha and I. His eyes widen then he begins smirking and laughing.

"No, shot." He muttered with a devilish grin, leaning back and folding his arms with a beer in his hands, "Don't tell me the 'perfect' university lesbians broke up"

I was taken back. Margot looks pissed at Sam, "Y/N's bisexual motherfucker, get it right" She says. I look down, embarrassed.

Chase warns, "Sam"

Natasha sighs and finally got the courage to look back up. "No, it's fine. We did break up. We didn't have much time to see each other so we called it quits." She lied, "We're good, don't worry."

My mouth fell open, and I lightly shake my head. Her eyes lock with mine. Nothing, no emotion. I see nothing. She doesn't even feel guilty for lying about the real reason we broke up? I guess I wouldn't want our friends to know that she kept drugs away from me. I scoff, just thinking of it. Even if it wasn't hers, she still kept it away. She lied to me and I still don't know how to comprehend around her and that's why I try my best to ignore her. Even with this new case, Natasha is innocent, but I know she's hiding something. She always has been.

There was tension in the air before Zac laughed awkwardly.

"Right! Anyways..." Jessica held up the snacks and drinks as she returned.

Nancy took it as a chance to change the topic, "Oh! Yay! Let's get drunk!"

Nancy cheered. Jessica frowned before she spots Natasha and quickly looks away to me, with wide eyes. "Great idea!" Jessica was quick to reply, rushing over to me and passes me a small beer bottle.

Natasha watches intensely, "She doesn't drink beer."

I cock back my eyebrow, and Jessica just sighs, wishing that she wasn't here in the middle of this.

Immediately I attach my lips to the bottle. I stare Natasha in the eyes, tilting my head up as I take a huge sip. She rolls her eyes, taking a deep breath in before making her way to the couch on my right, sitting down next to Gavin, the guy still in university that studies accounting. I tried holding in the beer, sipping it down very slowly, not thinking about how bad it tastes. I hate the fact that she still remembers I don't drink beer, it gets on my nerves.
