Traitor

"It's time to move The Neverseen to Exile," Emery announced. 

The Council has taken precautions to ensure that The Neverseen doesn't escape this time. For example, they made Elwin give every member 5 sedatives. They also have ability restrictors on.

"Meet Cason Dullumbre. A very important emissary. He will be accompanying us to Exile along with our goblin bodyguards." Emery continued.

Cason outstretches his hand for us to shake.

"Nice to meet you Team Valiant." He says.

Once he's out of earshot, Stina whispers, "I don't like him."

"You're just paranoid," Dex says.

Stina rolls her eyes but doesn't say anything back.

"Hurry up!" Bronte barks.

They made a circle and grabbed each other hands waiting for the light to whisk them away.

--Time Skip--

"Where are we?!" Wylie yells over the roaring wind and sand.

"The Gateway to Exile!" The whole Council yells back.

They start sinking into the sand, one by one.

Once they are in Exile, Dex shudders, "This place creeps me out everytime."

"You've been in here before?" Wylie asks.

"Yeah. To break your dad out."

Just then the lights go out.

"What's happening?!?!" Biana yells.

Wylie is trying to illuminate the room but the darkness is too much. They hear yelling and shuffling from the goblins. When the light finally returns, The Neverseen and Cason are gone.

"Where are they?!" Terik says frantically.

"Where is The Vanished when we need them?" Biana asks.

"They can't get into Exile." Dex snaps.

Biana takes a step back, holding her hands up.

Bronte is saying words that he shouldn't and Team Valiant is freaking out.

"He took the leaping crystal." Emery's voice boomed.

"So there's no way out?"

"The guards might have a spare." He replies.

On cue a dwarf pops out of the ground and hands him a black leaping crystal.

Emery holds it up to the light and the next thing they know, they're back in the desert.

"Go home!" He barks.

--Time Skip--

"Dad! They escaped again!" Biana broke down into sobs, collapsing in Alden's arms.

He held her there until her sobs were just hiccups and sniffles.

"It's going to be okay. The Black Swan has a plan."

Fitz came running down the stairs, "What's going--"

He collapsed on the floor next to his sister. "Is she alright?" 

"We'll talk about this after I put your sister to bed." Alden said.

--Time Skip--

"They escaped again!?!" Fitz ran a hand through his hair.

"And it appears there was a traitor in the nobility, Cason Dullumbre." Alden said grimly.

Fitz cursed. "What do we do?" 

"We do nothing. We must wait until the next attack and hope The Vanished can finish this off."

Keefe and Sophie

"They escaped again." Keefe said.

Sophie didn't even look up from her phone. "Great."

"Sophie, this is serious. They will probably know next time that we will be there."

"I'm way more powerful than them. They don't stand a chance."

Keefe blinked. "True."

"Now stop interrupting me. I'm doing something important."

He raised his eyebrows. "Oh yeah? What's that?"

Sophie rolled her eyes. "If you must know I'm playing Candy Crush."

Keefe just looked at her.

"What?"

"WITHOUT ME?!" He shrieked.
