Everyone made it to the motor inn except Doug. You stood next to Clem as the two of you stared down in disgust at a dead walker. "Gross..." You groaned, cringing at the smell. Lilly grunted and piled the dead bodies up, looking down at her hands in disgust. You looked at Clem as you two began walking away from Lillly and the pile of walkers.
"You okay Clem?" You asked, worriedly. He's been more quiet than usual and you were starting to get worried. He looked at you and opened his mouth when your brother came over. "Oh man Clement Y/N.." Duck started, making you sigh.
Lee stared down sadly at the picture of his family when gunshots were heard in the distance. Lee stared down the road listening to the gunshots going off and screams before it went silent. Lee then walked over to Glenn who was listening to the radio in his car. "Hey Glenn." Lee greeted, making Glenn put his hand up to shush the man. They both listened in on the radio before Glenn looked up at Lee.
"I think I need to go." "To Atlanta?" Lee questioned, making Glenn nod. "Yeah... I got friends there, and I just can't stay here knowing that they could be trapped in that city." Glenn clarified, making Lee nod in understandment. "It sounds like nobody knows what's happening there. When we left a few days ago it could've gone either way." Lee informed Glenn. "I got to take my chances." Glenn replied.
"You gotta do what you gotta do." Lee said, making Glenn look at him. "And I gotta do this." He answered Lee. "I respect that." Lee nodded. "You guys be safe." Glenn said, making Lee nod. "We'll try." Glenn then got in his car and drove away.
Lee then walked over to Kenny. "Hey Ken." Lee greeted, making Kenny look at him. "Close call back there." Kenny said. "Thanks for picking me up." Lee said, appreciatively, holding his hand out to shake Kenny's. Kenny grabbed his hand and shook it. "We have to take care of each other." Kenny smiled. "Yeah, we do." Lee agreed, nodding.
"Hey about Clementine." Kenny started. "Yeah?" "Earlier I said there's some stuff out there that might screw up a little boy like him." Kenny continued, making Lee nod. "You did." Kenny rubbed the back of his head. "Well I think that's true. But after what I saw today, I think, between you taking care of him and him taking care of himself, you two are going to be just fine." Kenny smiled, making Lee smile back. "Thanks, Kenny." "You got it." Kenny said, giving him a thumbs up, before getting back to work.
You glared at your brother as he continued yapping yours and Clem's ears off. "Duck, I think mommy needs you." You said, lying. Duck looked at you before looking over at your parents. "Okay!" He said, cheerfully, walking away. You sighed in relief. "Thanks." You heard Clem say, making you smile and look at him. "Sorry. He likes to talk." You said, making Clem smile back.
Clem sighed and stared down, making you frown a bit. You put a hand on his shoulder, making him look at you. "What's wrong?" You asked, worried. "I got grabbed again back at the drug store and when I fell I broke my walkie-talkie. " He said, making you stare at him. You knew how important his walkie-talkie was to him. "Oh... um..." You looked off to the side not knowing what to say. You always found it hard to comfort people.
You looked back at Clem who was staring down at the ground sadly. You scooted closer to him and wrapped your arms around him slowly. "I'm sorry Clem." You said, hugging him. You pulled back a bit and looked at him. He smiled a tiny bit and looked behind you. "Y/N, you liar mom didn't need me." Duck huffed, making you pull away from Clem. You smiled sheepishly at him before he started yapping again, making you and Clem sigh.
"OH, and then-" Duck continued, as Lee walked up to the three of you. "Hey Duck, you want to cool it for a minute?" "Ok. Sorry." Duck Replied, shutting up and walking away. You smiled up at Lee as Clem stared down sadly. Lee frowned a bit and crouched down. "I'm sorry, there's uh, not a lot of kids here." He said to you guys. You shrugged and smiled a little. "I only need Clem." Clem smiled shyly and looked away. "It's not that. It's... I got grabbed again." Clem said, sadly.
"I was there though." Lee said, softly. Clem shook his head. "I fell... and my walkie-talkie broke. Glenn had the other one." Lee's eyes softened, "Aww, I'm sorry." "Thanks. I know I need to be tough, I'm just sad." Clem answered, looking down, "I know it doesn't make any sense but it's how I used to talk to my mom and dad and now they're gone. It's gone." Clem said, tearing up sadly.
You looked at Clem sadly. "Maybe we can find you another one." Lee spoke, trying to cheer the boy up. "I'll just keep this one, I guess." Clem replied, not wanting another walkie-talkie. Lee stared at the boy sadly until he heard someone calling his name. He looked over at Larry. "Lee, come here for a second."
Lee looked at the two of you and sighed a little. "Let me go deal with this." You looked at Clem as he looked at you. "You're all I need too." He mumbled shyly. You smiled softly at this. You then groaned as you heard Duck speak up again. "Oh man, Y/N Clement! Another thing!"
Lee walked over to Larry, "What do you want?" "You like my daughter?" Larry questioned Lee. "Not really." Lee coldly replied, shrugging. "Good. Stay away from her; or everyone here knows that Lee Everett is a killer. And I'm not talking about those THINGS out there. You hear me?" Larry spat, rudely.
Lee just looked away and shrugged, making Larry upset. "I asked you a question, boy." Larry fumed, scowling. Lee just stared at the older man. "Then again, I wouldn't expect a convicted murderer to listen to anything anybody's got to say." The old man spat, before getting up close to Lee's face. "I know who you are." The older man said lowly. "And I dont give a sh!t about what happens to you. But if anything happens to my daughter or that little boy you've got with you, heh, you watch your a$$." Larry scoffed, before walking away.
Lee then looked over and stared at you and Clem staring down at the ground as Duck talked your ears off. "Duck please leave us alone." You said, getting annoyed at your brother. "Quiet Y/N the stories are just getting good!" He said, looking over at Clement. Clement sighed and gave you a small smile.
"Hey, Lee; do you have a second?" Lilly asked, walking over to Lee. Lee looked back and saw Larry glaring over at him. Lee looked back at Lilly, "My dad would be dead if it weren't for you." Lilly said, making Lee look down. "That guy, Doug, is dead because of me." "You can't be like that. You're only one man." Lilly said, shaking her head. Lee just stared down at the ground, "I don't know..."
Lilly smiled at him, "We're lucky to have you." Lee smiled at this before they heard gunshots in the distance again. "I hope that's the sound of us winning this thing." Kenny shouted, walking over to Lilly and Lee. "Me too." Lilly agreed.
"This motor inn's pretty d*mn defendable. We block off the entrances with some cars and keep someone on watch and we could stay here until the military rolls through." Kenny suggested. "I actually agree with that plan." Lilly smiled at Kenny. "Me too." Lee chimed in, as the three of them walk over to the road.
"We've got beds, we've got water and most importantly, we've got light. There are worse places to call home." Kenny said, as he stared up at the lit up motor inn sign. "Yeah. you're right. You know guys, I think it's going to be ok." Lilly said, before everything went black. You gasped a bit as the power went out everywhere. You scooted closer to Clem, not liking the dark. Clem grabbed your hand and pulled you with him towards Lee, Kenny and Lilly.
I hoped you liked this chapter :) I tried to add more of you and Clem together <3
