Starved For Help (Part 6)

Lee listened closely to the sound of Clem crawling through the vent, a worried expression placed over his face. Kenny walked around the room anxiously as Lilly stared up at the vent with a concerned expression. You fidgeted with your fingers feeling worried for your new friend. Suddenly you all hear him gasp on the other side of the door.

You all stared at the door as it slowly opened, revealing Clem with a nervous look on his face. "Are you okay?! Did anyone see you?" Lee questioned, coming over to him. Clem looked at Lee as you ran over to him and wrapped your arms around him. Clem wrapped his arms around you, "No. But there's a man outside." He answered, Lee.

Lee walked over to Lilly, "Lilly, we gotta go." "Lee! I can see him." Kenny informed Lee about the man outside. "It's not safe here-" Lee was cut off by Lilly, "For goodness sake Lee, I didn't even get to say goodbye!" Lee stared down at Lilly sadly.

"Get in here. I got an idea." Kenny said, getting Lee's attention. Lee walked over to the door and stopped before turning to you and Clem. "Stay here. Take care of Lilly, okay?" "I will." You and Clem said, nodding.

Lee then walked out of the room and saw the bloody room he saw before dinner. He looked over at Kenny who was staring at the tub of blood. " I told you there was something up with this room! It's a d*mn human slaughterhouse!" Kenny said, in disgust.

Lee looked around and saw a hay bale hook on one of the counters and grabbed it as a weapon, before crouching down again. "So what's the plan?" Lee questioned Kenny. "That dumba$$ is so caught up in his own rant that we could probably sneak right up on him. Just stick behind me, in case anything goes down. When we get to the front, grab his gun." Kenny said. "Sounds good."

"Okay you ready?" Kenny questioned, looking at Lee. "Yeah. Let's go." Lee said, looking through the cracked doors. "Stay close." Kenny told Lee, as he opened the door.

Lee stared at the rifle that was leaned up against a hay bale that the man was sitting on. A storm was pouring down outside the barn.

"... And momma. I know you mean well, and God bless you, but you have GOT to stop playing favorites with Andy. I know he's older, but that don't make him better. And it certainly don't make him smarter." Danny grumbled, as Lee and Kenny slowly snuck closer to him.

Suddenly Andy appeared, making Lee and Kenny stop moving. "Dan, what are you doing outside the barn?" Andy asked his brother. "Oh sh*t!" Kenny whispered, as he and Lee hid in one of the stables. "Just guardin' the place, like you said." Danny answered his older brother.

"Well, quit sittin' out in the rain like a damn weirdo. Mama says we can't keep that many folks alive and not expect trouble." Lee peeked through the stable door and looked at the two guys. "Pick one to keep and kill the rest." Andy continued. "Can I pick one to keep alive?" Danny asked. "Not the two kids. Not enough meat on them to trade." Andy informed, getting Kenny's attention.

Lee went to peek out the door and saw the two brothers coming into the barn. "Oh I know.." One of the brothers started. "Lee! Focus! Where's Danny?" Kenny questioned Lee. "He's inside, but he's not coming any closer." Lee informed, making Kenny nod. "I'll keep an eye on him. Be ready to act when I say." Lee instructed.

"See what he's doing now." Kenny said, looking towards the door. Lee peeked open the door and didn't see Danny anywhere. "Where is he?" Kenny questioned next to Lee. "I don't see him anymore." Lee answered. "Well, where the F8ck did he go?" Kenny grumbled, frowning a bit. "I don't know." "Look again. He didn't go past us." Kenny instructed, "See where he is now."

Lee peeked open the stall door again to see a rifle pointed to his head. Lee lunged forwards and grabbed the rifle moving it away from his head, making Danny shoot it. Lee groaned as his ears rang from the rifle firing inches from his head. Danny tries to reload his gun, making Lee lunge forward at him stabbing him with the hay bale hook. Danny yelled out in pain and punched Lee in the face, knocking him down.
