A New Day (Part 2)

The trip to Macon was rather quiet. Nobody really spoke much to each other except some questions from time to time and when the adults would ask you kids how you were. You stared out the window at the deserted roads of Macon. The truck slowly came to a stop, as it ran out of gas, making your dad sigh.  "Well this is as far as we're going." Kenny said and you all got out of the truck. "Then it's far enough." Lee said to Kenny. You and Clem walked next to each other as you all started to walk down the empty streets of Macon.

    Lee walked up to the drugstore and stared sadly at the place. You looked around and saw your brother pointing over at a figure. "Look!" He yelled. Kenny walked over and started waving his arms around yelling, "Hey there! You friendly? Truck's run out of gas." The figure turned back revealing a walker, eating someone. "F*CK!" Kenny yelled out, as Katjaa gasped in fear. Suddenly walkers started to swarm the streets of Macon, making you gasp. You looked around in fear and saw walkers everywhere. "We're trapped!" Katjaa yelled out. Clem grabbed your hand and pulled you closer to him and Lee as the walkers started to get closer.

"WAAH!!" You heard your brother scream. You all looked towards his direction and saw a walker grabbing on to him, making him fall down. The walker crawled on top of him and tried sinking its teeth into him. "AHHH! NO! NO!!!" Duck screamed out, in fear. You gasped and stared in fear as your brother was about to get a bite out of him.

    Suddenly the walker was shot in the head, making it go limp. Duck moved out from under it, covered in blood. He ran towards Katjaa and Kenny as they grabbed him. You looked over and saw a lady shooting the walkers in the head. "RUN!!!!" You heard a man yell, making you all follow him into the drug store. He locked the gates in front of the drug store and  ran inside behind you guys.

    "We can't take risks like this." A lady said, angrily, making the girl with the gun, Carley, glare at her. "And we can't just let people die, either." "When I SAY "that door stays shut no matter what" I f*cking MEAN it.' Lilly, the other girl spat angrily. "We don't know who these people are, they could be dangerous!" Lilly said, looking over at Kenny and Lee.

"Whoa, chill the f*ck out, lady. We're just people trying to avoid those things, just like you.' Lee said, frowning angrily. "Don't come in here and swear at me!" Lilly yelled, angrily. "I'll say whatever I want if you start threatening  these people." Lee snapped back. "You'll have to excuse her." Carely said, speaking on her behalf. "The h*ll he, or ANYONE will. This is about survival, do you guys not see what's happening?" Lilly spoke, looking around at everyone. Clem grabbed onto Lee's hand, making him look down at him. "What is it?" Lee asked, looking down. "I... I have to pee." Clem said, looking up at Lee.

    "In a minute Clem." Lee said, making Clem look down. You looked at clem and grabbed his hand. He looked up at you as you smiled a bit at him. He smiled back slightly.  "Those things outside don't care." Lilly continued speaking. "Maybe you should join 'em, then. You'll have something in common!" Kenny shouted at her. You stared at the adults and looked over and saw Clem walking slowly towards the bathroom. "She's an a$$hole, that's for sure." Lee said, staring over at Lilly. "That's what it takes." She snapped back at Lee. "Well you don't have to be a b!tch about it." Lee snarled. "SH!T!" Larry yelled, looking back at Duck and Katjaa.

    "Son of a b!tch, one of them is bitten!" He yelled, looking over at the group in fear. "He wasn't bitten." Lee said, calmly. "H*ll he wasn't!" Larry yelled, pointing his finger at Lee. "We have to end this now." Larry said, walking towards Katjaa and Duck. Kenny walked in between Larry and his wife and son.  "We'll dig one hole." Larry said to Kenny. "No! I'm cleaning him up! There's no bite! He's fine!" Katjaa yelled, cleaning the blood off of Duck. You stared over at your family and bit your lip.

    "Don't you f*cking people get it? We've already SEEN this happen. We let someone with a bite stay and-and WE all end up bitten!" Larry shouted angrily, pointing over a Duck, who still seemed pretty dazed. "Shut up." Kenny said, exasperated. Larry ignored Kenny and kept talking, "We gotta throw him out! Or smash his head in!" "KENNY STOP HIM!" Katjaa shrieked, wiping off Duck, quickly. Kenny looked over at his buddy, Lee. "Lee, what do we do about this guy?" Lee crossed his arms and frowned over at Larry, "We kick his a$$." "That's what I'm thinking." Kenny agreed, staring Larry dead in the eyes.
