AN: Thank you so much to the support! Sorry I haven't  posted for a while. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it!

If there is a video above it's probably what I listened to while writing the chapter.

Finals had been a huge mess... well for some students. I'd not really paid attention to it so I heard about it from Lydle and Jade. Lydle had been going on about something that happened in the dorm. Like a lounge being built in part of the dorm. Jade had informed me later on a hike that Arshengrotto-kun had 'won a deal' while Dixion later phrased it as 'tricking the younger years into a contract they had no chance of winning'.

My reaction to it all was merely a snort, not like I could've done anything. There were not a lot of Pomefiore students that got tricked thankfully. Though understandable with how the dorm works. Others like Ignihyde, Heartlabyle and Savanaclaw weren't so lucky. Noah had informed that most Scarabia students scoff at getting outside help, looking down on others when it came to academics.

"Ahh, congrats to my protege on getting forty-third place in the sophomore ranking!" Dixion had his arm slung around my shoulder in the Pomefiore lounge room, a glass of pomegranate juice raised in one hand. Though at this point I wouldn't be surprised if it was fermented by the way he was acting. I held my own glass in hand, though I knew that it was apple cider for sure. Pomefiore dorm often held gatherings after events such as this, celebrating success or encouragement to those who didn't make it into the ranking board. Vil had also made it onto the board with a ranking of thirty-seventh and most were gathered around him. Arlan had already been dragged into that fray after smothering me in praise and poetry.

I could even see him now, him and Rook were very enthusiastic about the results of the finals. Although the dorm weren't clashing necessarily for the board, if those who sought to be up there got what they wanted than it was a cause for celebration. Vil Schoenheit was posing for some photos that were being taken by others. Pomefiore parties had become infamous over the years and sometimes allowed out dormers to join in. There was a Sophomore called Cater Diamond who'd been let in by some of the others. Apparently having a decent following on magic-cam, he made friends with some of the other internet stars.

Viridis and I had been able to finish the water regulation rune, adding onto it a purification charm. It'd been a hassle with explosions and would undoubtedly result in destruction of the entire room if it wasn't for the runes protecting the area.

There was little else to say about the rest of the season for the school part. Most students went home a week after finals, the time frame allowed the professors to ease them out of learning and into holiday festivities while at the same time making sure they would have work over break. The work wasn't much just a packet to review what happened previously and some for the next units. So it really didn't make sense why students often complained about it. Someone could potentially spend ten minutes each day and be done at the end of the break, thus allowing yourself to not forget most things over the span of two weeks.

Saying goodbye to my friends who were staying behind in the dorms that break, I made my way to the dark mirror. Mer creatures were some who often stayed in the dorms over winter break due to the ice layer covering the oceans in most areas. This meant that Lydle was staying behind, though I wasn't worried about it this year... he'd made contact with the Leech brothers, meaning that most would avoid him this break. Even though the Leech twins were freshmen, they were very tall and abnormally scary for just getting legs.

For home seasons, the dark mirror would just take you to the destination in mind. No name needed as that would take longer especially with all the students that head home. This also made it harder for those of high status to go home without announcing their location. I found it an interesting concept and would love to perform tests on the mirror... except it was a national artifact so that would be impossible.
