IRENE

Ahh I get to sleep comfortably. The house wasn't dim at all, and on top of that, Tristan's cologne was scenting everywhere around my house. I knew he couldn't believe he was the second man that stepped into this flat in two years time.

My landlord told me a guy would be moving to second floor below me and I couldn't wait to see who it was. I just pray it's a very good and nice person. Maybe I could be friends with his family members and talk with them everyday.

"You are late." Samantha said immediately I arrived.

I checked my wrist watch and shook my head. "I came on time."

"Whatever, start your work." She said and rolled her eyes.

I guess she was just looking for an excuse to get me.

I started working immediately and swiftly, until I thought I was done but Rachel brought me another files. If I say I'm tired and I can't do anymore work everyone would point a finger at me and say 'when did you even come to this company?'.

Or if I close my files and say I'll do the rest of the work later or at home, everyone will say 'works are meant to be done in the workplace, besides, the attorneys need every detail to be submitted immediately'.

Sarah took a glance of her wrist watch and got up from her seat. "You guys should have lunch now, It's time."

I quickly got up and walked outside, where everyone was eating and chatting. I took my lunch from the servers and found a seat immediately. There's no use begging Samantha and Rachel to let me sit with them, they'll say no. The two of them grabbed their lunch and sat in the table next to me. I didn't spare them a look.

Rachel hitted Samantha on the leg and she turned to look at her, she gestured her hand to my direction. They looked st each other and nodded their heads. "Hey, Irene. Won't you have lunch with us?" she asked.

I was surprised. "With you? Can I?"

"Of course, you can." They replied and laughed.

I got up from my seat and joined them with a smile on my face. I didn't know why or how they changed their minds and I cared less. I just thanked them and they smiled back. I took a spoon of the egg fried rice and I swear it was so different, maybe because I was eating with people around.

I closed my eyes and chewed happily, and when I opened my eyes, I started hiccuping. My eyes fell on Tristan Colloway and he staring directly into my eyes. Their table was a bit far from ours but it felt like he was close.

I started coughing and Samantha gave me a cup of water and a tissue. I thanked her and looked back at him. His cold eyes which were as dark as his suit were staring at me unbriskly.

What's wrong with this attorney? I thought I had apologise to him? Why is he staring at me like that? Why can't he just have his lunch and ignore me? I heard that attorney Zaden is his best friend. Why isn't he as cheerful as Zaden. Why does he have a cold personality?

Samantha noticed I was absent minded and when her eyes trailed mine, she smirked. "You now like Tristan Colloway right?"

I stirred at the question. "What? No! Of course not."

"Stop lying, Irene. Everyone in this company knows, Zaden Hargreaves and Tristan Colloway are the GL and many girls are crushing on them." She replied in between mouth fulls of rice.

"GL? What's that?"

"GL is an abbreviation for good looking."

"Oh, I see." How childish and lame. I never had a crush on anyone, but I had a little tiny microscopic crush on Zaden because he's a nice guy and always smiles at everyone. Hmm.
