Don't Wish To Grow Up

How was your day?
A lot of toys you played
Watched your favorite cartoon
And rode the blue bicycle

Don't you dream about the future
You won't find anything cool here
You have everything you want now
It just feels like you fool here

I want to come back to you
Being happy with anything I can do
Feeling I'm lucky to see a rainbow
The only color I feel here is blue

Dreaming about trip to moonlight
Eating ice cream because my tooth is falling out
Sitting on my green swing in the summer nights
And I wish to be an astronaut when I grow up

Please don't wish to grow up
Please don't wish to grow up
Here it is not safe
Hide into your closet
Run with your teddy bear
Here no one does care
How much you fall apart
Please don't wish to grow up
Please don't wish to grow up

Get your friend's phone
You never see her anymore
Now I see, you don't want to believe
But you're also alone

You follow others to be friends with you
But you run away because they hurt to
Scream in pain as much as you can
You have to ache in silence soon

I avoid from people too, but I don't hide in the kitchen
They can't touch my soul even though my body locks with their chains
You want to grow up to be listened to
poor baby, they don't listen to me either

You wish to grow up to stop crying again
Go to school and make friendship bracelet
You wish to get older and go out alone
I'm dying to hug you tough and say:

Please don't wish to grow up
Please don't wish to grow up
Here time is frozen
Life is like slow motion
Kitchens have an island
You have to face all of them
That someday you were afraid of
Please don't wish to grow up
Please don't wish to grow up

You watch repeated cartoons and never get bored
Good for you
You think your parents prayed for you to be born
Good for you

You're happy when your sister takes you out
Good for you
You can show your tears and cry out load
Good for you

A promise with your unreal friend to be together forever
Good for you
You assumed when you grow up you could remember her
Good for you

You believe moon and stars are chasing you
Good for you
If someone says "I love you" you're sure it's true
Good for you

Don't wish your sister to get married to get her place
Please don't wish to grow up

Your only injury is for falling off your bicycles
Please don't wish to grow up

Your concern is not to lose your pacifier
Please don't wish to grow up

Looking at your photos, I envy this little girl
Please don't wish to grow up

But I wish you'd never grow up
Nothing happens as you thought
I wish you'd never grow up
To have to write down these rhymes

___________

I decided to start the book with this poem because I think everything has started since childhood.

When we were children, most of us wished to grow up because we thought that the joy, freedom and innocence of our childhood would always be with us. We thought that adulthood is very exciting and you can do anything and your dreams is going to come true, but no one told us that life was exactly childhood. Now this time is like a dream we never see it anymore.

Adulthood isn't what I imagined it would be, and I just talk to myself as a kid and say something about where I am, and I implore her not to rush growing up, as if she does, everything will be fine and I won't exist anymore :)

Any way

What's your the best memory about your childhood?

How much do you agree with something I told my younger self?

P.s: If I have any grammatical mistake, tell me so that I can edit it. Actually, I'm studying English translation at university and I'm trying to be better at it ^-^
