Prolougue

My heart was beating a mile a minute, and my cheeks grew warm.
The moment had come.
I was dressed in my best pale pinked flowered kimono with a ribbon of silk in my hair. My chocolate brown hair was wrapped tightly in a bun and My face showed signs of make up which included mascara, lip stick, blush, and eye shadow. My finger bore a ring that my dad gave me when i was about 5. It had a blue diamond, with gold as its ring. I never took it off. It was sort of my good luck charm.
I was dressed ready for my coronation.
I was seated on a purple and pink silk pillow in the middle of a room filled with guests who had come to see my coronation. Otohikoe , the wind god and my best friend was present along with Kurama, Mizuki, Tomoe (my dad!) , Nanami ( my mom), the two shrine spirits : Kotetsu and Onikiri , Himimiko ( the swamp yokoi ) , her familiar and Uryo (my brother ). It's a small party, but just the way I like it. My parents both gave me proud smiles. Otohikoe gave me a wink, and the shrine spirits nodded their big masked heads at me.
Mom stood up and the whole room fell silent. It was making me even more nervous than I'm already am. She approached me in the middle of the room and sat directly across from me.
My mom gave me and encouraging smile and began the questioning.
"Nazomi Momosonoe , my beloved daughter, do you understand what this shrine expects of you?"
"I do."
"Do you promise to fulfill you duties as land god and will do so until your child comes of age and will take your place?"
"I do."
"Do you know that you must take care of this shrine as long as your are in control?"
"I do."
" Do you realize there is no turning back?"'
" Perfectly."
"Alright then." My mom pulled other hand and rubbed my cheek affectionately. She then leaned in forward with a smile and gently kissed me on the forehead.
Silence.
Suddenly light shown from the spot of where she kissed me , proving that the mark of the land god is now officially mine and in me.
I'm officially the new land god of the Mikagi shrine.
