Owl House... a New Member? ((AU + OCs!))

Chapter 5: Thoughts...

~~~quick note! This chapter takes place at the end of Nikita's recovery from his fight but there will be some angst so if your not a fan of it... try to skip it ok? Have fun reading knowing there's angst...!~~~

~~~Eda's POV~~~

Amity was over at the house with Micheal once again, Luz had the common mold for her first time and poor Nikita was still shaken up from Grom... "Gus! You know they are sensitive with hearing! They probably have searing headaches right now!" I heard Greenie hiss to Dweebus in the kitchen. "I know I know but still! It's supposed to help calm people down!" Dweebus complained to Greenie before Micheal and Boots came back down, both looking annoyed but Boots had some confidence in Luz and Micheal... "still no luck huh kid...?" "No... whatever that was that he saw and went through impacted him hard..." Amity sat Micheal down on the couch and stared into their eyes. "Listen, me and Luz are one thing but that is Luz's brother they both suffered from Grom... the least you could do is stay by his side... ok?" Micheal nodded, grabbed some food for Nikita and went back up.

~~~Nikita's POV~~~

I just laid there as Luz babbled nonsense in the room across from mine, I was trying to think of anything but Grom however... all that I could come back to was her... mom... and the door... she looked so real... I only snapped back when Micheal touch my elbow. "Hey... lunch time..." they spoke softly knowing I had a headache. "Thank you..." I took the food from them but didn't exactly eat right away. "What's wrong this time?" Micheal said pulling up a chair. "Nothing nothing... I just... sorta realized something..." "what's that?" I sighed and mentally prepared myself for whatever Micheal would say about what I was about to say. "After that whole fiasco back at school before Grom I uh... kinda realized that... I don't exactly... care for my own being..."

Micheal stayed silent and motioned for me to go on. "I usually just do... whatever I can do to help other people... in fact I do it so much that I've realized I barely do anything for myself..." I explained as I stared at the ceiling laying in my bed when I felt a shift of weight on the bed, I look over and saw Micheal laying next to me. "You don't mind if I lay here do you...?" I smiled while blushing a bit. "Yeah you can lay here"

~~~Timeskip to later in the evening and in Luz's POV~~~

Micheal came down the stairs with a empty plate of food for the first time in all of today. "You didn't eat his food did you?" Eda asked suspiciously as me, her, Willow, Gus, Amity, and King were all in the kitchen, however they just calmly walked to the sink and began to wash the dishes in it. "Nope! For once he actually at the food!" That surprised most of us as we just stopped what we were doing and stared at them in surprise. "How in Titan's name did you manage to accomplish that!?" Eda shrieked in confusion before a bang could be heard making Hooty yelp in pain. "He still has a headache Eda..." Micheal reminded Eda, soon Hooty began to squabble and from upstairs we could hear Nikita groan; "Hooty shut up...!" Micheal only chuckled and began to walk to the front door. "Don't worry I'll see what he's going on and on about." However... the second Micheal got near the door Amity went stiff and wide-eyed before grabbing Micheal's hand and she spoke quietly. "Don't!" I looked around before noticing Amity's amulet glowing, realizing what was going on before I could, Eda snatched the amulet and threw it out the window towards the boiling sea, soon a small group of people dove down towards it. "Hooty! Lockdown the house!" Eda yelled making Nikita groan from upstairs, Micheal went up to keep him company and to keep things quiet for him. Soon all the windows were covered, the lights went red and everything went eerily quiet and still, except for the sound of soft chatter and a music box in Nikita's room.

~~~???'s POV~~~

Before we could confront the strange group of 4 the house seemed to go into lockdown as the windows were covered with reinforced metal, and a giant magic shield covered the house.  "What could the emperor's coven be doing here boss?" One of my companions asked with a hushed voice looking around. "Not the emperor's coven... Odalia..." "So then why are we here at Ed-" I shot the other member a look which made them retract their words. "At the Owl Lady's place? If that's not the Emperor's Coven then why are we here not taking care of the raids?" I took a deep breath and sighed dropping to the ground from the tree branch I was crouched on. "Because the Emperor's Coven wants something or SOMEONE else that isn't the Owl Lady from that house... but somebody else is trying to get them first by blindly using somebody on the inside..."

                     ~~~a few hours later~~~

~~~Nikita's POV~~~

I held an ice pack against my forehead and laid in the bean bag chair as I listened to the music box that played a soft calming tune, soon the windows opened back up revealing blinding sunlight making me yelp. "Hooty! Windows shut!" Thankfully he did close them but just as I was relaxing again the door opened and I opened an eye to see Luz and instantly regretted having looked because she now knew I hadn't gone back to sleep... "so... are you ready to talk?" I just shook my head as I went to take a sip of the eggnog that Micheal brought me a few minutes again, however I hadn't taken a sip out of it yet until now... I wished I hadn't as I immediately spat it out coughing. "Ugh! What's in this eggnog!?" Micheal poked her head around the doorway. "Wait- you wanted eggnog? I brought you dark coffee!" I just spluttered and stumbled over my words in disbelief. "How did you get dark coffee from eggnog!? I'm now confused as all heck!" Micheal flinched at my outburst as did Luz, but Micheal had issues with yelling. "Wait- Micheal I'm sorry I didn't-" and just like that Micheal had taken off down the hallway, I just sighed. "Luz... please just... just get me a cup of eggnog and leave me alone please..." I said rubbing my forehead adjusting in the corner I sat. Luz was about to speak but I just motioned to go with my hand with a sigh again.

~~~Amity's POV~~~

I could still hear mother's voice in my head... or rather... the last thing she said before the amulet was torn off of my neck by the Owl Lady and was chucked out the window into the sea... before I knew it Micheal ran down the hall and out the front door, now the only beings in the house were me, Luz, the Owl Lady, King, and Nikita. Luz walked down slowly, I looked at her for some sign of how Nikita was doing and she only sighed and shook her head. Despite no longer being under lockdown everything was still eerily quiet despite the footsteps and the crystal ball like thing that Luz called a TV...? "I don't know what to do... I barely know him and he won't open up to me..." Luz sighed from the kitchen, I got up and hugged her from behind not really thinking about anything other than comforting Luz. "How about we both go up and-" "he said he wanted to be left alone... wanna read some Azura when I come back down?" I only sighed but Nikita was the one that said it, not Luz, not Micheal, not anyone. "Alright..."
