Chapter 6: Friends or More...?

3rd person POV
Micheal ran and ran, through the woods with branches and bushes gripping and grabbing at her as she ran, she could only think about running away from her father's sudden shouting. However she reached a clearing and she stopped, the clearing led to a cliff that viewed the ocean. She sank to the ground on her knees realizing what she had done, she sat there beginning to cry to herself she didn't mean to run away like that but her mind raced to every time her father yelled at her and before she could do anything she had taken off running. Titan knows what was running through Nikita's head thanks to her running out like that. She took a deep breath in then out. She closed her eyes clearing her head and then stood up opening them, she knew SOMEBODY was going to freak out on her in someway due to her running out after a lockdown of the Owl House. However as soon as she turned around she was greeted by 3 cloaked figures, one tall, one about average height, just a bit taller than Luz, and one that looked short enough to be a ankle biter, naturally she freaked out and got ready to attack them before she was put in a net and passed out due to sleeping nettles.

—cut to the Owl House—

Eda, King, Luz, and Amity were waiting downstairs, listening to the dragon sobbing upstairs, seemingly talking to somebody but no other voices could be heard. Suddenly Hooty began squabbling before going silent and called for Eda. "Ugh... if he thinks he found another rare bug I'm going to bake that bird into a pie!" She then opened the door and paused and looked at Luz and Amity with a serious look and tried to calmly say "take King upstairs, now" but she couldn't and King could tell so he went to Luz's room and shut the door. Amity walked over first only to see... SOMETHING trapped in a bag. "Eda... what-" "not what... WHO... Luz... try to quietly close Nikita's door, last thing we need is him freaking out and shifting going on a rampage..." however it was too late as a sniffle could be heard at the doorway leading to the stairs. "H-Hey..." Nikita's croaked voice seemed to echo through the now quiet house, his eyes were red and puffy and there were lots of dried tears on his face.

"What am I not supposed to be finding out about...?" He said starting to walk closer. Luz was quick to act as she sprung up from the couch putting herself between him and the group. "Not supposed to be... finding out about... a body that we were gifted...! Yeah..." Amity sighed and Eda... Eda didn't know what to think. "Oh... it's... not uh..." Nikita was trying his best to maintain his composure in front of everyone and it was breaking Eda and Luz's hearts. "No Nik, it's not her, I can promise you that" Amity spoke up before walking over and put a hand on his shoulder. "Why don't we get you something to eat? Something healthy after all that crying?" Nikita could only sniffle and nod his head as Amity led the dragon into the kitchen. "Well he chose to come out at the wrong-" "Eda where are they?" Eda looked at Luz confused who was looking at the now empty bag concerned. "Oh no... Luz, do you think you could-" "Track them down? I can't promise anything but I can try..."

As Eda put the empty bag away, and by that she burned it up without a second thought, Luz was walking around trying to track them down, however when Nikita was near she had to be careful. Amity did her best to distract him... but that can to an end when a loud crash and whimper could be heard from Nikita's room. Try as they might Eda, Luz, and Amity were unsuccessful to stop Nikita who charged into his room only to be met face to face with another dragon, they stared each other down and nobody moved, everything around them was stiff and silent, then Nikita spoke. "Micheal...?" He began to tremble slightly as new tears began to form and roll down his face, the dragon saw this and thinking Nikita was upset in some way they tried to escape through the window. Nikita quickly ran over and hugged the dragon crying into her body, Micheal paused and looked at the trio not knowing what to do. However she was only met with a wink, a thumbs up, and a smile before the door closed, so after a but if thinking she decided to- "I'm sorry... you can hate me all you want... it doesn't excuse for what I did... I'm sorry..." Micheal looked down at Nikita who was absolutely bawling his eyes out while hugging her, she sighed and suddenly she was back in her human/witch form hugging Nikita. "Shhhhhh... it's alright, you're alright, it's alright" she proceeded to pull him up onto his bed, put herself in the corner and had him curl up in her lap leaning against her body as she ran her fingers through his purple hair.

She looked up once Nikita fell asleep and saw Luz and Amity peeking through the door and smiled and gave them permission to come in, as long as they stayed quiet, Luz found it hard to stay quiet... until Amity began to pet her, then she went red in the face and was silent the whole time as Micheal and Amity smiled to each other, Eda took the opportunity to sneak a picture of the four and made sure to make physical versions to give them later.
