Well, when I first wrote and published Spider-Man Wrongfully Accused in 2019, it was made during an interesting time. When I was writing that fanfiction, we were smack in the middle of Disney and Sony having a brief falling out which resulted in Spider-Man's future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe being uncertain. I actually thought that we weren't going to get closure on Peter's future after he was framed by Mysterio. I think the fact that we got Spider-Man No Way Home and that it happened is a miracle in of itself. And I'm going to say it, I loved it. I was so shocked when Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield appeared in the third act!

I mean seriously, when I saw the scene, I literally screamed, "NO WAY!!!!" in the theater! I also squealed giddily when Matt Murdock appeared in the movie, with Charlie Cox playing him! I was literally the only one that squealed with excitement in the theater. So as you can tell, I love Spider-Man No Way Home. It somehow found a way to make me appreciate the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies, and found a way to redeem its elements that didn't work. But I digress. After such a great movie like No Way Home, I don't think I could ever do a follow-up to my fanfiction.

But I guess all that changed after I wrote Avengers Eternity and created my OC Jake Phillips Jr. After writing a story with Jake that resulted in a possible romance with Yelena Belova, played wonderfully by Florence Pugh, I wanted to sink my teeth into doing another story with these two. But what kind of story to do? And I thought it would be fun if I did something of a spin-off follow-up to Wrongfully Accused, and I thought, what if Jake witnessed Mysterio sneaking into that old abandoned building hours before the confrontation between Spider-Man, She-Hulk, Daredevil, and Mysterio? It's pretty much the only way I could justify Jake getting Yelena for a bodyguard. And yes, the title is indeed a reference to the 1992 movie of the same name starring the late Whitney Houston. While I wouldn't explicitly say this is a sequel to Spider-Man Wrongfully Accused, as Peter plays a much more supporting role alongside Matt and Jennifer; it is indeed a spiritual follow-up that takes place after Mysterio is arrested but before the three heroes are asked to join The New Avengers. It's definitely a spin-off the same way Frasier is a spin-off to Cheers, or like how Deadpool is a spin-off to the X-Men franchise. Just don't expect Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, or any of the other multiversal villains to show up in my story. But maybe Kraven The Hunter plays a minor role. Just don't expect him to be like Aaron Taylor Johnson in that upcoming movie nobody asked for. Let's treat this like a Marvel movie, so here's the actors playing the characters!
