Yelena got out a syringe with a bright blue liquid, and then she put the needle inside Kraven's neck, inserting the chemical inside his body. Kraven bolted awake and sputtered, "acchh, kakogo khrena ty mne v sheyu vsadil, suka?!?!?!" Yelena glared at Kraven and responded in Russian, "Nazovi menya sukoy yeshche raz, i ya zasunu tvoyu golovu tak daleko v zadnitsu, chto ty smozhesh' liznut' sobstvennyye kishki. I ya otrezhu tvoy orekh." She showed the syringe to Kraven and said, "now I'm going to ask you some questions. And you're going to give us answers. And it's not a request. Don't even bother trying to escape from those restraints. They're made from a mix of vibranium and a brand new metal called adamantium. Now you're going to answer these questions, and we can do this the easy way, or the hard way." Kraven laughed at Yelena, "You think I'm afraid of you, malyshka?" Yelena grabbed at Kraven's testicles and started to squeeze his balls in an uncomfortable manner, threatening, "There are 20 ways I know how to kill you, zasranets. So start talking."

Kraven struggled against this pain, but then he said, "fine, ask your stupid questions." Yelena let go of Kraven's balls and asked, "who hired you? And don't even bother trying to lie. What I put in your blood is a truth serum. No matter how hard you try to fight it, you'll have no choice but to tell the truth to ensure your compliance." Kraven struggled against the truth serum, but then he gave in and said, "Betsy Schneider hired me to kill Jake Phillips Jr and Peter's family and friends. Anyone who was involved to be a witness against Quentin Beck, I was hired to hunt and kill them." Peter looked up the name Betsy Schneider and then he said, "according to what I've looked up, Betsy Schneider runs a website devoted entirely to Mysterio and is one of many people that believes Beck's lies against me. She's done a lot of controversial things including scamming people." Yelena looked at Kraven and asked, "Is she affiliated with Quentin?" Kraven nodded and said, "yes. She practically told Quentin that she had hired me for him. It's quite obvious she's a simp for him the way Jacob here is a simp for you." Jake was embarrassed and offended to be called a simp for Yelena, especially due to his feelings that he was harboring for her, and he clenched his fists. Peter placed his hand around Jake's shoulder and calmly said, "don't engage. That's what he wants. Don't let him gode you, and don't dignify his insult with a response."

"Why kill Peter and Jake? They did nothing to you." Yelena asked. "With Jake, he was just another paycheck for me," said Kraven, "as for Peter, I'd always been interested in Spider-Man and hunting him. I see him as the ultimate game for hunting." Peter frowned at Kraven and said, "You won't be hurting me or my family anytime soon Kraven." The Russian hunter smirked meanly at Peter and said, "we'll see about that, Spider-Man." Yelena calmly said, "One more thing, Kraven." Suddenly, Yelena slapped Kraven across his cheek hard. She then angrily said, "keep my sister's name out of your fucking mouth!!! If you ever talk negatively about Natasha ever again, I will remove your vocal cords with my bare hands and then I will make sure your heirs never find your remains!!!!" Jake and Peter then held Yelena back as she screamed, "YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!?!?! YOU KEEP NATASHA'S NAME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH!!!"

Eventually, the police were called and Kraven was arrested and put into custody for attempted murder. Jake and Yelena were sure to inform the police that Kraven was affiliated with Betsy Schneider and Quentin Beck, so this would play a big role in Quentin's trial. It was much later, and Yelena and Jake were back at his home. Jake was using the bathroom upstairs when he could hear crying in the guest room. It sounded like Yelena. Jake knocked on the door and asked, "Yelena? Are you okay?" He heard Yelena say through the room, "no... I'm not okay..." Jake could tell that there was sorrow in her voice. "Would you like for me to come in?" Jake offered. "Sure, I guess," replied Yelena. Jake came in and saw Yelena sitting on her bed, her eyes bloodshot with tears. Jake sat next to her and asked, "what's wrong?" Yelena looked at Jake sadly and said, "while I was fighting Kraven with Peter, Kraven said something to me that was hurtful... He said that I would never be as good as my surrogate sister Natasha..." She started to breathe heavily, more tears welling.

"As in Natasha Romanoff?" Jake asked for clarification. "Yes..." Yelena replied, "I know that biologically, Natasha and I weren't blood sisters. But we had a bond that was like sisters. I trusted her with my life, and she meant the world to me... I never got to say goodbye to her when she sacrificed herself... I'm alive because of her sacrifice... And to have her name used as a weapon against me, with the intent to hurt me... It just..." Yelena burst into tears, hurt. Jake wasn't sure what to do, so he hugged Yelena to comfort her. Yelena hugged back and sobbed, "I miss her so much, Jake... I thought I could get past this..." Jake gently rubbed Yelena's back and said, "hey it's okay... What Kraven said doesn't matter. You are loved and valued. Don't let anyone tell you differently. And besides, you saved my life. I wouldn't be alive if it weren't for you. And I'm sure Natasha is proud of you for all the good that you're doing." Yelena looked at Jake tenderly, and he looked at her with affection. "You are such a good man Jake Phillips," she said, "thank you." She was ready to admit her feelings for Jake, but she would rather wait to see if he was in love with her.
