MEHAK'S POV

It's been ten days since the incident at the mall. he is almost fully recovered, thanks to his unusually fast healing rate. No one knows about the shooting except Papa. In this span of time, something has changed within me. I've found myself inexplicably drawn to him, well thats wrong i know.

I don't understand why I'm feeling this way. Maybe it's because this is the first time I've been so close to a man, apart from my brother. It's strange.

When we keep a dog, we grow attached to it. huzoor is a human being, after all.

Moreover, he hasn't scolded me or stopped me from doing anything during these days.

As I sit on the bed, reading yet another book Aarti recommended, I can't help but glance at him. He's resting beside me, his presence both comforting and perplexing. I've read five books in these ten days, finding a lot of things i am unknown to , well the  one i am reading was HAUNTING ADELINE, and my leftover day pass in taking lectures, and helping in kitchen for cooking as dadi ji want her pota bahus to do it now a days , i , riya and daizy cook or to be exactly i and riya cook , and daizy only give orders,

daizy tried some stunt but thankfully i tackled them  .

Suddenly, his voice interrupts my thoughts. "What are you reading?" he asks softly, his eyes half-open.

I freeze. Oh no, what do I tell him? I can't possibly admit that I'm reading smut. My cheeks flush with embarrassment. Why did he have to ask this question?

"Uh... it's just a book aarti suggested," I reply, trying to sound casual.

He raises an eyebrow, a faint smile playing on his lips. "What's it about?"

My heart races. How do I explain this without revealing the truth? I clear my throat, stalling for time. "It's, um, a romance novel," I say, hoping he doesn't press further.

"A romance novel?" he repeats, his smile widening. "Sounds interesting."

I nod, feeling my face grow hotter. "Yeah, it's... interesting."

He shifts slightly. That spark of warmth flows through me again.

"Are there any... particular scenes you like?" he asks, his voice low and teasing.

My breath catches. Is he teasing me? "Well, it's... well-written," I say, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Just well-written?" he presses, his eyes locking onto mine.

I swallow hard. "Some scenes are... more engaging than others."

"Engaging, huh?" His fingers lightly graze my wrist, sending shivers up my arm. "Tell me more."
