Magnus' POV
My alarm goes off for my Tuesday class. I unfortunately needed to take a relatively early class. Relatively early meaning 11:30.
When I turn my 9am alarm off, I move my hand behind me, feeling a cold spot next to me. I turn to my side and see Alexander is not there. I sigh before sitting up, resting my back against the headboard of the bed frame. I scroll through my Instagram feed for a few minutes before Alec walks into the room. I look him up and down slowly. He's sweating through his workout shirt, looking incredibly hot. He comes over to my side of the bed and pecks my lips softly. "Hi." He says through a strained breath. He must of just came back from a run. I smile up at him. "Good morning Alexander."
He chuckles as he looks through our dresser. "Good morning to you too." He turns around once he has some clothes in his hand, resting his elbow on the top of the dresser, leaning against the wood. God. He looks so good right now. "You want to shower? I can drive you to campus and get some lunch while you're in class." He offers a flirtatious smile spread across his lips. I bit my lip before jumping out of the bed, right into his arms. I cling my legs around his waist, my arms wrapping around his shoulders and my fingers running through his hair. He laughs against my lips. He lifts me up a little with his one arm as he walks to the bathroom.

We drive to campus in a pleasant silence, my music humming lightly in the background. We park in the upper lot and, hand-in-hand, he walks me to my class in the Arts Building. "Do you want me to get you something?" He asks as we wait in the elevator to get to my floor. "I am starving so anything at this point but do you think we can go to the grocery store after? I want to make dinner for everyone tonight." I ask. I look at him and see him staring into my eyes. He squeezes my hand softly as a response. He walks me right to my classroom and pulls me in for a quick, soft kiss. "I will meet you back here in a bit, with something to eat." He chuckles. "Bye." I say before walking into the classroom.
This class I am in is an elective class. I decided to take a Spirituality and Paranormal class to fill a few requirements for the university's overall curriculum. I think it will be fun.
I take a seat next to a girl with long white, wavy hair. Her dark skin is so flawless, I am jealous. Her eyes are a few shades duller than Alexander's yet extremely eye catching. I pull out my computer quickly and get my things ready on the screen. "I am Catarina. Catarina Loss. It's nice to meet you..." She says, her voice is soft and something inside me stirs but I can't put my finger on it. "I'm Magnus Bane." I say, a shy smile spreading across my lips. She drops her pen on the counter, her eyes widening. Why is she looking at me like this? I look around the room and see if she saw something else, but no one is in the room. "Magnus?" She whispers, rather forcefully placing her hands on my shoulders.
"Yeah?" I say, physically taking her hands off my shoulders. "I thought... I thought you were dead..." This takes me back and a shiver runs through my body. I am about to stand up when she holds onto my forearm, pulling me down a little. "We went to the same elementary school in New York. You all of a sudden one day just left with no explanation or reason. Everyone at the school thought you and your mom passed away. You came in on a Wednesday and did not come back after that." She says, her tone almost sounding like shes talking to a ghost.
I look at her shocked, unable to really answer. How do I answer that? "Oh yeah my dad abused my Mom and I. We went into hiding for like 15 years until we moved back home. My dad found us, beat my boyfriend up practically, and went to jail."
"Magnus?" She asks, breaking me from my thoughts. "Yes. Yes!" A jolt of excitement runs through me. "Catarina! You used to have pigtail braids and the other kids called you Kitty Cat because you used to hate your name." We both laugh before looking at each other's faces. "You were my best friend." I whisper, sadness filling the words. She rather aggressively pulls me into a hug and this time I do not pull away or move. Instead, I tighten my arms around her, my head resting against her head. "I never stopped worrying about you. I always knew you were out there." She whispers. Someone comes into the room and we pull apart. "Raphael! Ragnor!Tessa!" She screams, standing up quickly. When I look up to her, she has a few tears on her face. Ragnor comes over in a little sprint after looking from her to me, obviously nervous about her crying.
"It's Magnus!" She literally points at me when Ragnor places his hands on her shoulders. I stand up slightly uncomfortable when the three join us. They do a once over on me and small memories flash through my mind... Catarina Loss, Ragnor Fell, Tessa Gray and Raphael Santiago... My best friends from when I grew up. They lived a few blocks from me. We used to draw on the pavement at Tessa's house with chalk. At school we used to play hide and seek on the playground.
I can't believe I found them again.
It's as if we are all reliving the same memory because we all immediately form a large group hug, emotions filling us all. "Magnus, we missed you."

We exchange numbers as we are walking out of the classroom. Alec is sitting outside at a bench a few doors, a to-go container in hand and a small smile on his face when he seems me coming over. "Alexander, I want to introduce you to old, old friends." I wrap my arm in his as he stands up, his face flushing slightly and his body language stiffing a little. "This is Catarina... Ragnor... Raphael... and Tessa." I say point them out. He shakes each of their hands politely. "We went to elementary school together before I moved away unexpectedly." I say, my tone shifting slightly at the end of my statement in hopes that he would pick up on me not sharing the information about my dad. "It is really nice to meet you all. Thats really awesome that you guys are all in the same class all over again." He gets me... I squeeze his arm thankfully.
"Well, someone make a group text. We MUST catch up for real soon." I say before hugging each one of them. They walk the opposite direction as Alec and I. We don't speak until we get in the elevator. "Mags." He says, placing his hand on my cheek and brushing my cheek. I feel the dampness from where a tear was. He pulls me into a tight, one arm hug. When he pulls away, he has a soft smile on his face. "I am really happy you found your friends again." He whispers before kissing me softly.
We make our way to Alec's car and I wait until we are inside before I start to eat. We drive for a little and Alexander starts to chuckle. "What?" I ask. "You must have been starving, you literally at that in no time at all." I punch his shoulder lightly which causes his to laugh a little harder. "If you keep cracking jokes you are not getting a homemade dinner and you will have to go back to campus and eat the shitty dinner at the cafeteria." I say, my tone as serious as I can make it. He stops laughing and immediately takes my hand in his before kissing my knuckles softly. He continues to hold my hand as we drive to the grocery store.
