Lyanna's Perspective

“I couldn’t believe you’re really here, Lyanna. I was just about to pen you a letter yesterday but then the headmaster informed us that you will be coming. Believe me when I say that I wasn’t able to sleep the whole night. It feels like my heart is about to jump out of my rib cage! I was so excited to see you!” Dovey continue to talk as we walk through the corridor that leads to what I presume my room, her one arm is clanged on mine. Lesso is on my other side, she remained silent and cold.

“Lesso, are you mad?”

“Why would I be?” She asked nonchalantly.

“You doesn’t look pleased to see me again.” I’m a bit hurt If I were to ask. Lesso’s always been like this and I’m already used to it but right now it’s different. I’ve miss her so much and I couldn’t bare her acting like this.

“I’m just overwhelmed to see you that’s all. Give me some time, Lya.” One thing that never changed is her assuring me whenever I feel like she’s upset. She would let me know that I didn’t do anything wrong for her to be mad, or that it’s the other thing or someone else that caused the changes with her mood. And the nickname she always uses on me back then kind of lessen the heavy feeling on my chest.

I slowly pull her arms closer to me, now I’m both holding them on each side. She didn’t opposed nor say anything. She just let me grasp her, knowing she couldn’t do anything to stop me. “You two are such babies.” Dovey said, looking over to Lesso.

“Oh? I remember this?” I said in excitement as the room we’re heading came into sight. I pull myself from them and walk ahead.

“Of course, that’s your old room, Lyanna.” Oh how much I missed this place. I open the door myself, making no effort to wait for them. I then roam my eyes to the whole room. It’s still look the same as I left it. “We refused to touch anything here as we know that the day would come where you’ll come back” The walls are still colored with crème that I painted myself. Shelves of books can be spotted in each corner of the room. Even my comforter and pillows are still in the same arrangements and color like before.

The three of us used to have sleep overs here because they said my room is a lot warmer than theirs. Lesso needs to sneak in every night as she wasn’t allowed to be in our school. We all know that the headmaster is aware of what we’re doing, he just chose to ignore and let those slide. He’s been tolerating us until now.

“I missed this room.” I said through sigh. I’m just sure that I will be sleeping like a baby. I noticed that my baggage are now placed on the side of the bed, I’ll just fix those tomorrow. I don’t think I still have the energy to do anything “It’s best if you two go back to your room now.” They also had a long day for sure and it’s already late, I can feel myself drifting off “Don’t look at me like that, Dove. We can spend the entire day tomorrow together.” The desire to stay for a little longer can be seen on her face.

On the other hand, Lesso already looks so fed up with the both of us. She won’t say it out loud but I can feel how badly she wanted to leave now. I don’t know how to initiate a conversation with her, neither will she do the first move to talk about what really is the problem. Of all people, Lesso’s the last person I would think to bury and grow hatred towards me and my departure years ago because she never care about anything at anyone at all. But here we are, I didn’t know that it did affect her that much since she really didn’t say anything when I left. Guess that’s the first sign.

“Okay, okay. If you say so.” I diverted my gaze from Lesso to her upon hearing that. She come closer and lock me into a bone crushing hug once more. “Good night, Lyanna. I can’t wait to spend time with you. I have so many plans to do, I hope you have time for those.” I nodded and said my good night also. They both look at me for the last time before heading towards the door.

“Lesso?” She didn’t even say good night or good bye to me. This woman won’t let me sleep in peace tonight I just know. She turn around, followed with Dovey. “Good night, Lesso?” I said and to my disappointment she just nodded and leave. Dovey throw me an apologetic look before following Lesso. “That woman. What should I do with her.” I just took a quick shower and change into my sleeping clothes before laying on bed and soon enough, sleep.
