I flew off in the helicopter, not knowing where I was going but wanting to get as far away from that Hydra base as possible, knowing someone would eventually wonder why there was no communication on their end. Distracted, the propeller blades of the helicopter hit a mountain peak.
"Shit!" I exclaimed as I started falling from the sky.
I landed on a mountain covered in snow and crawled out of the helicopter. Even though I was not physically hurt, the impact did not fail to affect my body. On the verge of passing out, I saw a figure approaching me.
_________________________________________I was found unconscious by M'Baku in the mountains. He was confused about where I came from and how I ended up there. Soon he spotted the flaming helicopter and put the pieces together.
"Pick her up and take her to our home," he commanded his guards, who stood still.
M'Baku looked at them and said, "Are you people deaf?" His guards jumped, as it was rare for their leader to raise his voice.
"Sir, I don't mean to go against you, but are you really considering letting a stranger into our borders, into our home?" one of the guards asked.
M'Baku looked at them, understanding their concern. "Your opinions would be different if it was someone you knew, wouldn't they?"
The guards stayed silent.
M'Baku turned to face them and said, "Have I ever failed to protect you?"
The guards shook their heads.
"I don't plan on starting now."
______________M'Baku called T'Challa and asked if they could treat me. Even though there was tension between them, they wouldn't let an innocent life suffer because of it. T'Challa sent some guards to Jabari Land to pick me up and take me to the capital of Wakanda. I arrived and was examined by Shuri, T'Challa's younger sister.
"Brother, there are no wounds. What exactly am I treating here?" Shuri asked.
"I don't know, but I've been told she's been unconscious for almost three days. She was in a helicopter crash," T'Challa explained.
Shuri whispered to herself and soon said, "Brother, this person is not an average person. She is enhanced. One of her skills is that her body cannot be physically hurt... it's strange."
Soon her brother was called out, and I started to wake up. Shuri questioned who I was and how I got myself into such a situation. Once I was awake, I was moved to a secret medical facility as they were not sure if I was a threat or not. I followed their orders and didn't fight back because I knew they were trying to help me. They kept me away from the outside world.
The only people I felt comfortable with were Shuri, T'Challa, and M'Baku, as they were not treating me like a threat. I still hadn't told them about my powers as I was scared they would lock me up and experiment on me. Even though I trusted them, Hydra had left a wound that I didn't intend to reopen under any circumstances.
I was sitting in Shuri's lab when I saw the door open and three people rush in. I saw Shuri, Nakia, and Okoye discussing something. I learned that T'Challa was dead and an evil king had come to power. Soon they noticed me. Shuri looked in my direction and said, "If you want to live, come with me... the king is dead."
I got up frantically, grabbed a coat Shuri had lent me, and walked out after her and Nakia, noticing Okoye wasn't following us.
We traveled to the mountains, which seemed familiar. On the way, Shuri explained everything to me: how this was where I had crashed, how I was found by M'Baku, and about what was going on in Wakanda—that a new king, Killmonger, had challenged for the throne. We arrived at M'Baku's place. The rest were having a conversation about how T'Challa died and how Killmonger took the throne, while I stood outside the throne room, listening in.
