CHAPTER 6

KATSEN

I was lost in thought after exchanging contact with him. But he went on introducing himself. He stretched his hand to me in a handshake and I shook his hand.
"Micheal Williams". He said

"Katsen Dashe" I replied.
I couldn't stop staring. He continued to tell me his business with me.

"I would like it if you could visit me ms..... " He looked into the card I gave him. "Miss Katsen"

Suddenly, I came to my senses. And without thinking I replied. "Regarding what sir"

"Oh sorry. Don't get me wrong. It's purely business. If you are ok with it. I'll give you a call.

To me. It's kind of weird for a man like him to do business with me. Wait! What kind of business could he be talking about? I have to ask him. Before I get myself into trouble.

"If I may ask. What kind of business are we talking about? "

"Food-related business. You see Miss Katsen. After seeing how hardworking you are. I want to help you reach the top. I promised you won't regret" He smiled gently.

But why am I nervous? I should be happy that someone like him wants to help my business. It's a jackpot for me. But there is something about the way he is looking at me. Why do I get the feeling that he is flirting with me?

"Ok. I shall wait for your call" I replied
As he was about to leave. He turned back facing me and left a remark.

"By the way. I enjoyed your cooking. And would love to taste more of it next time we meet. I shall take my leave now"

So he turned his back and walked away.
I don't know how the word slipped out of my mouth. "What just happened? Is he flirting with me? "

I shook my head and slapped my face with my two hands. "I mean, why would someone like him be flirting with me? "

Three days later.

It was a Saturday morning. I was still sleeping on my very soft bed. My doorbell rang. I ignored it because I was enjoying my sleep. It ranged the third time. So I reluctantly opened my eyes. For the fourth time, it rang. I was pissed off. I stood up and rushed to the door to see who was disturbing my peaceful sleep.

As I opened the door. There stood a man in a black suit. I sized him. He was very tall with a big body. And was carrying two bags. So I asked

"Who are you? "

He answered. "My name is Clint. My boss asked me to deliver this to you."

And without waiting for my reply. He suddenly left.

Back to my room. I opened the bags to check what was inside it. I saw a beautiful black floor-length fitted dinner dress in one of the bags. It has an open back and a slit up to the thigh. It's actually to my liking. I opened the second bag and inside were two boxes. One shoe box and the other a diamond earring and necklace.

Everything looks expensive. And immediately, my phone rang. I grabbed my phone to check the caller. It was an unknown number. I decided to answer the call.

"Hello," I said

"Hello, Katsen. It's me, Micheal Williams. I would like you to accompany me to a business meeting tonight. I'd like you to meet some people I want to introduce to you. Don't worry. Like I said. It's purely business."

At first, I was speechless. So I tried to process everything for it was so sudden and I didn't know what was happening. For some reason. I am feeling weird about the whole thing.

"And as for the gift. Please, don't get the wrong idea. I just thought the meeting was so sudden and probably you might not have something to wear. You can wear whatever you want. I'll pick you up at seven"

He hung up the phone without even hearing my reply. What kind of a man is Michael William? The thought of him filled my mind that I had forgotten about Grey.

I have been looking for an opportunity to meet Grey. But after a meeting like that three days ago. I don't know if I still feel the same about him as I did before.

All I want to do now is to give him back his black card. And also to look for a way to pay him the money I took from him.

After living here in Manchester. I know I can make it on my own. And I swore I would make it big. That, I can promise myself.

My doorbell rang. So I rushed to check who was at the door. It was none other than my Korean girlfriend Ari. I let her in and as usual, the first thing she did was kiss me. That is hello. I locked the door and turned to her.

"Eh Ari, what's up with you.? She was just smiling. I could see the excitement in her. Something good must have happened to her.

Ari is one of the first friends I made immediately after I moved to Manchester. She accommodated me before I moved to my apartment. She is the type who loves partying a lot. No wonder, she is a professional dancer. At the time I first met with her. She just broke up with her boyfriend.

Since then. She has not been dating anyone. I can tell her anything. I told her about Grey. She knows everything about him. She is not only my friend. But also she is like my sister.

"Ari, you are not talking. You look happy. Tell me?". I joined her on the couch sitting and facing each other.

"I am in love Kat" She giggled. I was so happy for her. So I moved close to hug her. I whispered into her ear as we hugged each other. "I am so happy for you sweetheart."

I pulled away from her. "who is this man that is stealing you away from me?" I asked and chuckled

"I will introduce you to him soon. Kat, you, can't believe it. I love this man so much. Whenever I'm with him. It feels like nothing matters. He makes my heart beat all the time." Suddenly, her eyes caught the things on my bed.

She stood up from the sofa and walked to the bed. She picked up the dress and looked at it. "Wow, Kat. Did you buy this with your money? ". She asked surprisingly

"Well... No, I... " I replied

"Start talking. What have I missed? ". She dragged me to the bed and she saw the diamond necklace, earrings and heels.

"KAAAT". She shouted. "Tell me everything. All of it"

"Ok," My hands are up. "I will tell you everything. It's not what you are thinking

Ari and I agreed that I go to the business meeting with Micheal Williams. She also advised that I should give Grey a chance to defend himself. I hope I can do that.
