Chapter 18

Grey

It has been a few days since last I saw my woman. She betrayed me by sleeping with my friend. She is mine. Knowing that another man has touched what is mine didn't sit well with me.

I know that she was also mad at me because of my relationship with Katelyn. But, what she doesn't know is that Katelyn and I are over now. We are no longer together. The arrangement I had with Katelyn has ended and we are no longer a thing.

After I met with Stephen, Katelyn's father. I told him everything he needed to know about what his daughter proposed so many years ago. How she came to me. She proposed that we became sleeping partners with no strings attached.

The old man was not happy with me. He was angry to know the truth about my and his daughter's relationship. He thought we were in some kind of relationship. But after hearing the truth from me. He was broken.

After every. He has decided to withdraw his shares from my company. And now. I am free from him. The man has forty per cent shares in Themchat. I had a backup plan and arrangements containing that. It was what Katelyn had been using against me the whole time. But, what she did not know was that. I had been looking for a way to buy her father's shares all this while. Now that I have succeeded. I now have eighty per cent shares of my company. That gives me more power.

When I started the company. So many investors came in. Some left while some stayed. Stephen was one of those investors who had the largest shares in my company. He had in the past been my greatest fear because of the large amount of money he had put into the company.

However, after the company becomes big. I was able to gain more power after I bought some shares leaving me with forty percent. Now I have his forty percent shares and I don't know how he did it. He gave up the company without putting in a fight. I count myself lucky.

Pacing around in my sitting room with a glass of scotch. I thought of Katsen. I missed her so much. I missed the way she felt when I kissed her. When I touched her. And she moans when I am I side her. I missed everything about her.

I dawned the remaining of my drink and I dropped down the cup on the coffee table. I took the black velvet box on it. Sitting on my plush sofa. I opened the small box and it revealed the diamond ring I bought to propose to Katsen.

I want to make it right. There is no way am letting her slip out of my fingers. She is mine. And mine She will always be.

I had to buy the apartment where she is staying. Though she was not aware of it. That apartment now belongs to her. I shall tell her after I propose to her. But before then. I need to talk to Michael tomorrow. I heard his Mafia of a father has arranged his marriage. There was no way he could escape this one.

We used to be good friends until unknowingly I slept with his girlfriend. It wasn't intentional. But, it broke our friendship. I know his family very well. His father is a dangerous mafia leader. How Michael escaped with his mom still confuses me.

I knew he also wanted Katsen. But she was mine first. And I would do anything to keep it that way.

Not that I lack a woman to settle down with. But for Katsen. There is something special about her. It was like love at first sight. I claimed her from the first time I saw her. Even though I wanted her as a one-night thing. I couldn't. And from that very moment, I knew she was the woman for me.

Laying on my bed. Trying to get some good sleep. My phone rang beside me. I grabbed it and checked the caller. It was no other than Michael. Exactly the person I want to talk to.

I clicked on it and his voice was loud.  "Hey. Are you home? We need to talk. It's urgent".  He spoke.

And for the first time in so many years, I feel like something is wrong.

"I am in my house in London. What is it? And where are you?". I asked

"I am right here in your house?"

"I will be down in a minute "

I slid out of bed and walked down the stairs to get to the door.

I opened the door and Michael walked in. He looks distressed. His hair was dishevelled. Walking close to him where he sat with his legs crossed, I saw the dark bag under his eyes. His lips were busted.

His tie was half-loosed and his white shirt had blood stains on it. Something is not right. On his right hand. He had a brown envelope with him.

He was glaring at me. And I don't know what is it he wants.

"What happened to you?". I broke the silence. But his eyes were still shooting daggers at me.

"Do you truly love Kat?" That was the first thing he said to me. And it came as a question

I don't know where he is getting at. But I replied truthfully.  "I love her with my Life. And, I will do anything for her. I will give my life if I have to. That is how much I love her"

He sighed and smiled a bit. Then he continues.  "You have no idea how much I love her Grey. She is everything to me. Just like you said. I can give my life to her. I love her Grey. And I want to spend the rest of my life with her". 

"Wanted? What was that supposed to mean?". I asked

He handed over the envelope that he was holding in his hand to me. I opened it and what I saw shocked me.

"Oh my God". I screamed.
