the next morning when I woke up, I saw that Billie was already gone.

I decided to call her and find out where she was.

After a few rings I heard her voice.
"Hey babe," Billie answered.
"hey, where are you?," I wondered.

"out on a date with Iris. Why?,"

"what?!" I exclaimed.

she laughed.
"I'm kidding,"

"I don't want you joking like that, especially since knowing you two have a past," I said

"alright, I'm sorry Leah," she apologized.

"you didn't answer my question though, where are you," I said.
"we're at a meeting with my label," she said.

"we?" I asked.

"Yes, me and Iris," she replied.

"Billie, why is Iris with you?" I questioned.

"Business," she stated.

"I don't want you with her," I said.

"don't be dramatic," she muffled.

"just because we dated doesn't mean we're still involved,"
"but you were," I argued.

"we were never serious enough to actually keep things going after the breakup. We both knew that, and we would probably be better off without each other." She said.

"you know that, but she doesn't. For that reason I don't trust her around you," I explained.

"listen to yourself," Billie sighed, "You're acting so childish right now."

"I'm acting childish?," I repeated.

"yes, you're acting childishly because you're upset. You know what I think? I think you're jealous. And I think that's ridiculous, because I haven't done anything wrong," She exclaimed.

"I explained to you how I felt and why I felt that way, that's the most mature thing I could do!" I yelled.

"if anyone is acting like a child, it's you!" I added.

Billie stayed silent.

"I'm going," I announced hanging up the phone.
I turned to the mirror and tried to stop crying.
I looked absolutely devastated.
And I hadn't even been alone that long.
Suddenly I heard someone knock on the front door.

I went down to open it.

I saw that it was Billie's manager, Megan.

"oh hi Megan," I greeted.

"come in,"

"thanks," she said.

she walked in and stood next to the kitchen island.

"so how are things?" she asked.

"fine," I replied.
"how's Billie?" she questioned.
I glanced down at the floor.
"I don't want to talk about Billie," I said.

"well, you know we kinda have to," she insisted.

"but first, I know last time I was here, I told you that you had to end your friendship with your roommate," she said.

"for the sake of your relationship with Billie, how are you feeling about making that sacrifice?" she asked.

"I'm okay, I'm fine with whatever you decide to do," I responded.

Megan looked at me skeptically.
"okay good, that's great, and this time I'm not saying I'm going to force you to make a decision," Megan said.

"okay," I let out.
